I agree 100% with slamdawg, back in the day Jimmy Garvin used psychology over style to really get the crowd fired up to hate him (and you loved to hate him). You mostly see gimmicky stupidity these days, but there are still a few guys who really know the basics. The master of this was Larry Zbysko, I've seen security rush Zbysko out numerous times because the crowd was getting frenzied over his antics.
@SequentiallyCompact In the age of the internet, its hard to get fans emotionally invested in angles and hard for guys to get the crowd to hate them. The only guys who seem to not let that phase them are CM Punk and Jericho who know how to get the crowd to legit hate their guts because they are not interested in being the cool bad guys that Vince Russo created and thus hurt the business.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: These 'old school' wrestlers REALLY knew how to work a crowd and the mic, without having to resort to profanity, T&A, or juvenile antics. A lost art......
Great promo!!! Jimmy and precious were awesome. Jimmy should have held more major titles but he was over without it. - so, its not his fault.
