hey how long did you pracktish on that song and whits book is it now thats from allan but whats the name on that piece i whant to play that piece too just got meself a mandoline atm a kentucky 174 a- style
i got here a mandoline kentuckymodel: km-160 its look like yours almoste i aim new at this never played a instrum. but always loved the sound of midieval so now i want tho start learning to play a mandoline but midieval style and greensleeves but no bleugrass.
hey thats the name a style mandoline i have looked arond and see alot off mandolines like sunburst thats look like that so becaus i like that mandoline sound the look what did you pay for it new ?
brendan - Now I'm not a musician or anything, I just goof around on the Mando and Uke, but I don't find it all that hard to play. I have not taken any formal lessons, although I really should. I want to play a bit more bluegrass and feel I will need some lessons for that.
That particular piece I learned from the book Medieval Music for Mandolin by Allan Alexander. He has published several titles and they all include the TABs as well as the sheet music and a CD so it makes it quite easy to learn
CubeableGame - probably the mandola or an octave mandolin but there is nothing wrong with just a plane ole mando. If you are playing more medieval or celtic stuff then I would suggest a more celtic flat-top mandolin or mandola/octave

how difficult is it to play the mandolin?

Excellent playing! I can't decide between the mandolin and the mandola. Which is better for medieval music?

Nicely played! I play out of the Alexander book too. Your rhythm is solid, and you let the strings continue to ring nicely.
