it's a style of japanese game called otome (which means maiden games)

it's kind of a reverse harem, where the girl is surrounded by different "types" of guys and you go through a scenario, pick the action and you advance in the game in order to get with the guy you like...it's hard to explain if you've never seen those kinds of games...
