Fine transcription but this fugue is for 3 voices, what is the extra violin doing there? This fugue should be played only by 1 violin, 1 viola, 1 cello.
@mtv565 This fugue is an extract from a complete arrangement of Bach's Well Tempered Clavier for string quartet, in which all preludes and fugues have been arranged for four string instruments regardless of the number of voices. Bach originally conceived the dialogue so it can be played with 10 fingers on the keyboard. The 4 instruments (and 4 hands) allow a new distribution of what was originally a 3-voice conversation.
