  • First so sad for Linford, later so happy for Don . . . . . . never felt emotions for a single race like that night!

  • The greatest race in the history of the Olympic Games

  • Crappy commentary

  • Whats most beautiful about this particular run is how he had a bad start and came from behind... what a moment.

  • definitely a sub .80 if he had any kind of start, that was horrendous first thirty..

  • Da BBC is so corrupt imagine da blatant false start by bad bwoy Christie and da commentator makes it look like da starters robbed him of a chance to defend his title. When he was asked to leave da track he did'nt, claiming he want to watch da race; fair enough but y ventured back on da track after da race? That's so out-of-order; he did'nt represented his adopted country their well enough did he?

  • Dave Coleman is a punk. He's seen da replay blatantly and then declared that it was'nt a false start, that's real curry-favor. It's painstakingly clear that Christie false started.

  • Check out the 2 chicks in the background at 6:04 lovin them some christie ass.

  • @ 14:00 Sorry David Coleman they were cheering Donovan Bailey. Christie didnt do Bolden any favours - this video is evidence of that: watch?v=uQe2pT_vW34

  • Linford reacted too quickly on the third start. The IAAF say +0.100 is the limit, he was +0.086.

  • Still one of the greatest races of all time, the drama of it all with the false starts only serves to make it better.

  • David Coleman we miss you. BBC should bring you back for the London Olympics, because Steve Cram is rubbish compared to you.

  • 4 jamaicans were in this race. Michael Green, Christie, Bailey and Ato Boldon. Ato Boldon mother is Jamaican.

  • @MrTelaviv123 is where you born not where yuh parents from boldon is from trinidad

  • @MrDieselmac Ask Ato. He does not deny his Jamaican heritage. Ato is a JAMtrini. Yep, but you correct he was borned in Trinidad.

  • To run a world record after so many false starts, Christie taking the piss ...

  • It's great how Linford handled himself with dignity. A great man. The greatest sprinter of all time. Better than Bailey, Bolt and all of them.

  • SHIT,.....I TELL U,UTTER SHIT THIS RACE WAS......

  • I was at the finish line for this race in the stadium.. Boldon did not false start. He timed the gun magnificently. Look at the very late call for a false start on Boldon. The starter could not believe that Boldon got such a great lead honestly. A late call was given and all of the drama around Christie cost Boldon the gold medal. The starter's miscall ruined this race for Ato Boldon.

  • @drbniles There are sensors in the starting blocks and even if the runner times it well they will have false started if they leave the blocks before 0.6ish seconds. That's the fastest reaction time possible. Anything faster is considered a false start.

  • Christie had no dignity at all. He was disgraced for trying to cheat the others yet came out after and distracted people who wanted nothing to do with him. He was found to have banned substances in his system throughout his career

  • Ich kann mich noch genau daran erinnern wie ich als Kind das mit meinem Opa gesehen habe war einfach nur spannend!

  • Linford and Bailey two of the G.O.A.Ts

  • i was wonderd of the video length over 14 minutes.

  • no imaginaban ke sus tiempos serian "nada" comparados con los de usain bolt!

  • running these time now , u can hardly make relay teams of ja

  • isn't boldon a commentator right now?

  • At about 00:25, the commentator called him "Ato Boldo"

  • Ata Boldo? lol. This commentator had made too many blunders on here.

  • ato bolden be cussin lol around 7:02 hahahahahahahahah he's tooo real

  • MR ATO BOLDON to u commentator.

  • This is why i run long distance (LOL!)

  • Christie took his double faulting so badly it was embarrassing to watch. Also bailey ran a new WR so the point of "who would have won" is nonsense. Look at bolt in the recent 100m disqualification. He just accepted it and the difference is he WOULD have won! By the way im English and thought Linford was awesome, however its hard to root for someone when you find out they have cheated.

  • What an arrogant British wanker the commentator was. Throughout the whole segment he barely mentioned Donovan Bailey as if he was snubbing him. All you heard Linford this and Linford that. Brits and Americans always like to discredit Canada. The little guy everybody wants to use. Why is it because of Ben Johnson that the Brits don't talk about Canada. Oh so if he represents Canada he must be a drug cheat?

  • people are gettin faster everytime

  • come on people nobody expected Christie to win it was Bolden andFfredericks who were the ones to beat Christie was not near as fast as he was 3 years before, he was 36 and washed up

  • @sdgtotty Maybe that was why Linford got disqualified. Linford hardly ever false start. He jumped before the gun the first time. Then he reacted too soon the second time. I think he felt that the only way he could defend his olympic crown was to get a jump at the gun.

  • Donovan Bailey truly won this final. He did not false start even though he was under tremendous pressure (which is half the battle under racing) and he broke the world record. Nobody except him to win even though he was the World Champion going into the games. Everybody was excepting Lindford Christie to win but HE F uped (lost the battle before he even started). Donovan Bailey redeemed Canada!! Thank you Donovan Bailey for carrying the pressure of a nation and coming through!!!!

  • @kasidhe I wouldn't say Donovan "redeemed Canada". Yes, I remember how elated we all were when Ben won, and how devastated we all became when he was stripped of his medal. It was more galling to watch that mewling little American cheat Carl Lewis point his little fingers, because we KNEW he was dirty, but that wasn't proven true till years later. No, Donovan did himself proud that day, and made Canada proud.

  • That would be nice to see a reigning Olympic Champion in their prime at the next Olympics. That hardly ever happens in the 100m, but 4 years is a long time to stay on top at the level.

  • did u see the speed and explosiveness on tht first fault start!!!! ucould literally feel it!

  • Bailey wone. But he didnt beat Christie.

  • @antsman88 of course he did and would have Christie is overrated.

  • @sakusia He did not. He may very well have done, but if Christie didnt run in the race, no-one beat him.

  • you make me rember ahhhh its good year thanks for this video

  • you make me rember ahhhh its good year

  • Such a loss man I wish he was still in the race

  • so disappointed for christie...stupid rule
