ummm wow? really? that is extremely offensive to the queer community. by the way, "faggot" actually means "A bundle of twigs, sticks, or branches bound together." Try saying what you mean and not hiding behind your homophobic lexicon. For example I would question your intelligence for making such an offensive statement in response to anything.
What exactly would I achieve by doing such a thing? Because, if you are referring to how the word faggot is used in modern slang, I'm well aware of that and if you read through the rest of my last post you wouldn't have even been asking that of me. Or perhaps you plainly don't understand anything after the first sentence. Also, it seems that you resort to more primitive language and blowing off the truth of the matter, when you are unable to produce an intelligent retort.
Hey Redo12164, you fucking retard, queer means happy. Don't attack someone because the word they used had a different definition 800 years ago, when you yourself use a word that doesn't actually mean gay. And tell me how homophobia is linked to the word faggot... when someone says faggot, how the fuck are they afraid of gay people? Dumbshit - learn how to not contradict yourself.
well the sulfuric acid would still be in the carbon, so its not entirely pure. it prob wouldnt be a good idea to touch it, because you need concentrated h2SO4 to get this to work....
anyone know a reliable site where i can find out the safety precautions of this reaction? im trying get my teacher to let me do this demo for a speech im doing on sulfuric acid.
I would treat it the same as anything that uses acid. It gets hot so watch out for that too. Other than the H2SO4 all you have is sugar, carbon and steam.
@djmland we did this experiment and our teacher INSISTED that we do it in her classroom [airconditioned, aka. closed room!]. my advice, don't do it! the fumes are very strong. we used a sulfuric acid that is concentrated [i don't know the %] but it's almost like oil, so the result is very fast. as soon as you pour it, it blackens and rises up immediately [even if some of the acid is still not at the bottom].
What insights could these reactions yield when contemplated within human's ? Meaning, blood type , ion channels, sweating vs panting, diabetes and why some people have black melanin while others have white or absence of, Does blood type B+ sugar antigen (insulin?)code for blood surface protiens a sulfer element in the ring intended for metabolization in B+ tissues? What if people are type O- how can they metabolize sugar if they're never placed onto or carried by the red blood cells?
sulfuric acid is available in most countries as a 'professional' drain cleaner. However the public can buy it. Go to a hardware store and ask for it. You don't want the sodium hydroxide based drain cleaner, but sulphuric acid. It's higher concentration than 90% sulphuric. In my area they sell 97%. However, this stuff is not very pure.

This reaction will only occur noticeably with concentrated sulfuric acid (about 98%). The reason for the reaction is that the dissociation of sulfuric acid in water is highly exothermic. Sulfuric acid is actually more stable when dissociated because the dipole in the H2SO4 molecule is greater than the dipole of a H3O+ ion. Hence ionization is favoured.
Dilute acid is already more than 99% ionized, so adding sugar does not help the ionization reaction like it does with concentrated acid.
