  • 2:06 looks like where the warping occurs. Quite visible.

  • Some of the water looks a little choppy (even for 24p) is this a function of the 17Mb/s bitrate or just of YouTube HD sucking on my computer?

  • Neither.

    Its the panning of the camera, or anything which pans in its path, known as Artefacts, and all DSLRs when in video mode do this. It's caused by the fact that the image sensors on SLRs are designed for still image shooting and scan from top to bottom when scanning an image. Accordingly this has to be done for each of the frames the camera captures whether it's in 24 or 30 fps mode. If the camera is panning or still with a scene moving left to right to left, these artefacts are very clear

  • Very nice images. Thanks for sharing your experiences with the GH1. It looks very promising as an HD camcorder.

    Please post more test footage in low light, if you can.
