These filmmakers met with Stan Lee and decided to base it on the very first edition of the comic. Campy, 60's was what they wanted since they had really no money. But the THING and Dr. DOOM is so much better than in the big budgeted version.

Most of you are entirely too hard on this. A lot of jumping to conclusions. The movie wasn't made to be released(Which only the actors were unaware of). It was made just to keep the rights. The budget was next to nothing. To attack this movie is like attacking a 90 lb weakling...wayyyy too easy.

Say what you want about this version but the newer big budget version had no excuses for their campiness. The budget for the new ones was at least 50 times more, even when considering inflation!

Fury, on the other hand, was/is black in the Ultimate universe and the current Marvel film universe and combined (amalgamated) with the traditional Fury on the Superhero Squad show. On the Avengers: EMH show is supposedly mixed but looks more like fellow SHIELD agent Gabriel Jones who appeared prominently in the 90's Hulk animated series.

I cant say i love this movie..The beginning is slow confusing and unnecessary at times..But when they become the heroes and villains the movies gets much better, the camp comic style is much more apparent and fun. Ben's costume is good and his voice does remind me of Patrick .HA  Its definitely worth a dvd release

There very touchy feelly in this movie. What was Dr. Doom doing to that doctor, one minute I thought Doom was blind the next I thought he was going to strangle the guy. Johnny Storm is really annoying and needs to meds to calm that kid down.

For a Roger Corman movie from the early 90's, the thing and doc doom look pretty damn good. Smaller studios should be given the chance for some comic book licenses. See what ingenuity and a smaller budget can do.

well this movie is kinda bad, but honestly: dr. doom here is MUCH better. he lives in a dark castle, he let's henchmen do his bidding and his suit looks like in the comics. The Doom here is the Doom I always wanted in a movie. I was so dissapointed in FF 2005 and rise of silver surfer because of Doom... Now suddenly I see this and despite it's a bad movie I am still positively suprised because of Doom :D
