There is more than one company and each developer puts their game out every two years

Battlefield 3 came out in 2011 - October

BF BC2 came out 2010 - march

There for call of duties (at least the most recent examples) are worked on just as long as Battlefields

About realism

That's not what games should be about

Battlefield does it really well but isn't realistic too much as in - like GTA needs to learn to put fun before real

And call of duty is not TOO far behind..

If they changed things such as knifing

Projectiles (maybe two or 3 throwing knives that don't kill in one hit) and explosives

It would be a lot better

All in all they make good up to date games that can prove for a fun worth 60$ experience

I am a hobby Mapper for MW1 and messed with radient Mapper, MW3 I noticed watching someone play and get my own hands on it is they use the Same Mapper and Engine, Some same Props. thet tweaked the engine, texture quality, added props, added textures,and added more effects like cubemap etc. to there new map for the game. BF3 looks amazing I have not seen gameplay other then previews but it is amazing with the looks.
