It's almost terrifying how great she is - I've never heard or seen one performance of hers that's anything less than perfect from every angle.

Yes, her voice may have lost a few of the highest notes required for Lakme or Die Zauberflote, but the flexibility, expressiveness, and "roundness" of her voice have not diminished - keep in mind that she played Lucia in 2007 at the met - the final mad scene ends on a high Eb which she sings beautifully.

For so many reasons this is one of my favorite clips on YouTube. Yes, Dessay's voice changed after the node operations, but she can sing the hell out of this repertoire and bring so much to it dramatically. I love her.
