Simply amazing! The music is Mozart's creation and lyrics are from the text as it was written by the catholic church for the celebration of the mass for the departed. Mozart translated the text/visual images into an exquisite aural experience that makes you shiver. And to actually sing it, it's just something out of this world! The concert hall resonates with all the intensity from the voices of the choir and the orchestra. Hope to sing the whole requiem again soon. :D

I love how Mozart perfectly captures the feeling of this text in the music. The first stanza, when translated, means, "Day of wrath, O day of mourning / See fulfilled the prophets' warning / Heaven and earth in ashes burning". Mozart depicts the warning about the Last Judgment more perfectly than any other composer has been able to. There's a reason Mozart is probably the most famous composer who ever lived.
