Why doesn't Valve keep the drop system, dropping more class-specific items if you get more points as that class? for instance, get a bunch of points as a Sniper, and your chance of getting Sniper drop items is increased. I think it would allow people to get the weapons for their favorite class sooner, but it would still be a random chance.

Maybe achievements would increase the chance as well? I think it would be a good item system.

I agree with you on the warning part, they even admitted to not having an official policy against it in the past.

This is because idling isn't cheating, since it doesn't give anyone the unfair advantage over anyone else in-game. Plain and simple.

All it did was save VALVe bandwidth.

Uh, idling doesn't increase the pace at which you get weapons at all. All it does is save bandwidth from VALVe, because you're idling on a virtual server without actually running TF2, as opposed to connecting to an actual idle server, which, like all servers, VALVe keeps track of (connects, disconnects, how long people stay, points scored, where people die, ...).

It was doing VALVe a favor. This is not opinion, this is fact.

I'm all for the random drop weapons. I hated the achievements because about 50% of those events would never happen in a real battle round, unless you were being a total non-TEAM player and contriving the situations where those events could happen... or grinding on achievement servers!
