oh and for yalls info, a gsr can run 14 stock if u can drive even with the long geared y80 trans.....they run about 15.2....still faster than a stock spec v
@mmlargie..dude, hondas pull u cuz they have something n/a nissan's dont have which is top end speed! face it. hondas have already took over street racing
damn he spun out for like 20 seconds...gotta be careful, spec v's have to be launched at the right moment..either they'll get too much wheel spin or you'll pull slow off the line...pedal is very sensitive and needs to be mastered.
@RaDiKALS123 i guess it does depend on the driver.. cuz i raced 2 spec v's different times from 60-130 and they both got toasted. in every gear . somebody said they pull on integras in 4th gear but i jus kept losin them. i have a 4dr gsr. and the cars were equally madded
im tired of this its a drivers race bs if u miss a shift u just lose. stop blaming it on a drivers race its just an excuse. take ur loss and deal wit it. no doubt im a hardcore honda fan and i have a gsr and the nissan sentra is a good car. but if the honda loses i dont make up excuses it just loss. and i would expect the same from the nissan driver. just plain and simple.
very true i own a 04 ser w/ a greddy cat back. i raced a lowered gsr with a intake and exhaust and honestly it was dead even. we were doing high way pulls i would slowly walk away but i did miss shift once and i couldnt pass so its all about the driver.
Dude did you not stop to think about the fact that maybe the GSR didn't have the best of launches either? That and you realize that with drivers of equal skill and cars being so close in both weight and power that it's going to be a drivers race no matter what. 1 person messes up 1 shift the other person will win regardless of who messed up. It's a drivers race plain and simple man, deal with it.
damn i would never race on an 1/8th mile track its no point...stock on stock i agree you would be neck and neck with each other ..i raced both of them with my 4th gen max when it was stock and they both lost the same...yes if ur vibe is a VVTL-I porting it make a big difference in power but i would just dish the money out and get a TRD supercharger... who has seen a supercharged VIBE? not I!!
I've got a supercharger sitting at home for my vibe, I just don't wanna put it in just yet cause i'm waiting for summer. I've seen a few supercharged vibes at meets. And just a note, vibe superchargers only come for vibes with an automatic transmission, and for the base model vibe.
Yeah that is very true, but it's a reliability factor and until summer arrives, it's not going to do much good when I have no other mods to support the supercharger....lol. I still need to have the throttle body bored out to a 2.0 and I need to upgrade the internals of the engine so I don't blow anything lol.
ok i own a 03 spec v with i/h/mp/e safc 2 tuned. for everyone hating back and forth about honda vs nissan, the truth is both cars are about the same. modded spec will own stock gsr. modded gsr will own stock spec. both with similar mods is basically drivers race. there is no smoking the other by 5 or 6 cars unless someone screws up big time. big advantage for the spec TQ & LSD. Gsr, Vtech. so if they spec gets off the line fast and runs all out, the gsr hits vtec and they become about even.
Dude you just compared a 5spd to a 6spd. You are retarded. Let's say we're talking about the same transmission here. If you can run the 1/4 with only 3 gears on your 5spd without bouncing off your rev limiter, you will run a better time than if you try and shift into 4th. That time you spend shifting you could have been using to still accelerate. That's the point I was making dude. Does that make sense to you?
man im sik of all these kids tryin to rep the specs but cant drive em right cause i beat gsrs out here in tucson all day long lik nothin these kids needa learn how to drive
it had a engine swap he did gave me a good run tho kept up till 3rd gear then he fell back on all 3 runs the C-TEC on the nissan kicks somewhat harder
Yeah the del sols are insanely torquey...it all comes down to weight. The vibe's first gear is also very torquey...but the weight and gearing of the del sol got me each time. Have you ever been to the track with your Nissan?
sure have was alot of fun i ran on hoosier slicks for better traction my engine is n/a all has done is ported out from to 2.5 to i think 2.8 dont remember and tuned the ctec to kick in at 4500rpms has a stage 3 clutch forged pistons msd ignition a bunch of goodies i ran a 12 something wen it was stock i ran a 14 something lol
Shit dude. That's insane. I always have had respect for the SER. They have great torque, and the third gear on those things are insane. How much power are you getting to the wheels?
Dude, your an effing moron... First off, you act like there are soo many GSRS out that you can just race at will.. SPEC V's are slower than GSRS get over it.
dude i agree with you 110% i have a 03 spec v with a aem cold air racing intake and im beating hondas and acuras left and right its a matter of the driver and your shifting but these kids are scared of pushing the car to its real limit man
the guys you race must suck balls. my buddy got an v spec its only 15.3 at the track maybe 15.0 now with cold air and headers. on the street i smoke him with my si. 15.5 at the track. track is so different from street.
okay, no DX is beating a Spec, EVER... unless the Spec driver doesn't have a clutch pedal foot. sorry honda guy. and the butterflys are a big issue along with the precat. got to loctite them asap.
yeah Spec driver cant drive at all. that was a horrible launch. my Spec would murder that GSR. (as it has done, with that motor in a civic hatch, which is supposedly very fast)
eh..stock is 15.6 or so...mines running about a 14.7 lots of ppl dont know about the butterfly screw problem though (mine was missing one) and it really does make a difference stock. anyway, i love it and its outrun about everything in its class so far, including the RSX type S
All QR25DE intake manifolds are "dual stage" and come equipped with two runners in each primary. There are four butterfly valves (or power valves) in the lower half of the intake manifold, one in each runner.
Below 5000rpm the butterfly valves remain closed to optimize torque, above 5000rpm the valves open to allow more air into the engine. For each butterfly valve there are two screws that hold them in place. These screws can come loose and get sucked into the engine, causing damage to the head, cylinder walls and/or precat. This issue affects all model year QR25DE engines except '06 which have redesigned screws.
I have seen official dyno charts to all 3 cars. S2000 has claimed 200+ whp but I think that's bull. Supposedly a mod'd RsX S will take out a basic upgrade S2000.
For the 06 Si walking the Ser...go walk a 08 Spec V. That be the class you should be running.
wow.... sr20 crank in a qr25? on crack! the spec does not run 14's stock, it run mid to low 15's stock. I own a spec so don't shit talk. and for the folks that said they own this and that... lol! i just love it when everyone on youtube owns a 9 second daily driven car.... not just 1 but like 3 of em! lmao!
abiniz, when you dyno a vehicle the hp at the wheels on a specV is always about 25 less than what the factory states. They rate their hp at the crank. I have a 190whp. Thats about 50hp up from stock. Next upgrade will be low compression pistons with a block sleeve and a 100 shot of nitrous. I still will have spent less than those with turbo kits and have a car with about the same power.
i raced a gsr with my 02 spec v. i had nismo/aem cold air intake and he had aem short ram and dc headers. he beat me once and i beat him once. so they are close cars.
Any honda in my Class would be what I am talking about for one. Even the k20s, plus you dont know much about cars, Nissans are known for TQ. thats the only reason why Hondas pull me 1-3 b/c i spin 1-3. and 1/4 is not a mile race just to let you know. your car might be slow to where when u hit 4th your just reaching a mile but i hit 4th right after the 1/4.
I would not even pull my spec on the line with your GSR i would but my 200sx se-r and that would be a faer race for you. Hondas all talk but no walk. Name a Honda and i can name a Nissan or Toyota that can beat it.
okay, u spin 1-3rd cause you cant launch, or u dont lower tire pressure.. if you have so much torque use slicks... and you hit 4th after the 1/4? cool, it doesnt matter after the 1/4 anyways.. i hit 4th during the quarter.
that actually slows you down cause you have to shift more. every time you shift you lose momentum and time. It's better if you only have to use 3 gears rather than 4.
i run a 14.1 all motor in my specV. i/h/e, JWT Cams, BSR, ported head, ported intake manifold, throttle spacer, cat delete, indexed plugs with modified timing to run 4 degrees advaced on 104 octane with a set of bfgoodrich drag radials. i have a modified fuel curve to run 104 octane with the advanced timing. i pull on stock 350z's :) Havent been able to dyno it but my guess would be somewhere around the 190whp range.
that's sad that you have to spend all that money just to get your car to keep up with 350Z's. You should've gone and bought a faster car that didn't need any mods to be fast so you don't have to upgrade everything. Stock Beretta GTZ fastest run is 14.3. hahahaha and it's 16 years old.
You're tellin me. I know 2 guys one has a tuned civic Si that's N/A, other guy has a turbo Si that is not tuned. The tuned N/A Si is faster than the turbo Si. Kind of sad that people think that just slapping a turbo on a car and it will be better when that's not true at all.
Hahaha Beretta GTZ's were sweet, that kind of power out of a 2.3L back then was nuts, especially from GM. And that's probably why you rarely see a single one on the road today....
Yea, they had bad problems once you got up to around 125000 miles. My good friend had one and he cracked the cylinder, blew the head, and cracked his piston in 2. And they all seem to have the same problem around that mileage no matter what you do or how carefully you drive them. But they are extremely fast cars and I would love to have one.
my specV runs a low 14 and there is no way that a gsr mildly modded will beat me. I also have an ls/vtec integra that blows the doors off of a gsr or specV.
what do you have done to your spec V that your droping low 14's it must be nitrous cuase i have one with cold air intake headers exhaust and a modded knock sensor solid engine mounts and a throttle body spacer and the best i get out of it is 14.7 so thats sounds like a bunch of horse shit to me??? and yes i also have a ef civic with a semi built B18b , even people on the forums cant get more than 14.8-14.6 out of an all motor spec without ECU or nitrous
honetsly it would be a real close race i have a spec and my boy has a gsr. Maybe u did win but that launch by the spec was one of the worst i have ever witnessed.
true.. the spec v had a bad launch.. and my launch on this particular race wasnt even close to a "good" launch also.. point is.. ive beaten every spec v ive raced.. with an intake and header.. thats it.. never raced a nismo spec v though
u have to remember Specs run the hardest in 4th gear by time your down the track your just hitting 4th and GSR still makes good power 4th gear so SpecV's only pull GSR's mid 4th gear and on but look at the trap speeds on them the Spec is usually in about the 90's and the GSR is high 80's but on the road the Spec is gonna win at the track the GSR will end of story thankyou
i race many gsr modded one or not even my friend type s.ask what do i have first before u talk shit..i got nismo r-tune that including cams/rh/cai/ and bsr sr20 cranshaft and i just order a garet turbo from jwt dumbshit...where u from and wat kinda car u drive probably dont have one..hahahahahah
cool dude.. yah you probably would beat my gsr with those mods, i dont deny it.. alli got is an intake, header, my word, and my balls(and i dont break em for no one).. oh and FYI.. i Own 3 cars
oh and for yalls info, a gsr can run 14 stock if u can drive even with the long geared y80 trans.....they run about 15.2....still faster than a stock spec v

GSR is a much better car than a spec V and not to mention not a surprise that it's faster.

But they are extremely fast cars and I would love to have one.

damn u did all those fucin mods to get to 190 from 175. wtf nigga
abiniz 4 years ago
He said 190 whp (to the wheels). Factory takes specs off the flywheel. 175 is probably closer to 145-150 to the wheels.

my specV runs a low 14 and there is no way that a gsr mildly modded will beat me. I also have an ls/vtec integra that blows the doors off of a gsr or specV.
Bobbo921 4 years ago
what do you have done to your spec V that your droping low 14's it must be nitrous cuase i have one with cold air intake headers exhaust and a modded knock sensor solid engine mounts and a throttle body spacer and the best i get out of it is 14.7 so thats sounds like a bunch of horse shit to me??? and yes i also have a ef civic with a semi built B18b , even people on the forums cant get more than 14.8-14.6 out of an all motor spec without ECU or nitrous

honetsly it would be a real close race i have a spec and my boy has a gsr. Maybe u did win but that launch by the spec was one of the worst i have ever witnessed.
espnetboy3 4 years ago
true.. the spec v had a bad launch.. and my launch on this particular race wasnt even close to a "good" launch also.. point is.. ive beaten every spec v ive raced.. with an intake and header.. thats it.. never raced a nismo spec v though

u have to remember Specs run the hardest in 4th gear by time your down the track your just hitting 4th and GSR still makes good power 4th gear so SpecV's only pull GSR's mid 4th gear and on but look at the trap speeds on them the Spec is usually in about the 90's and the GSR is high 80's but on the road the Spec is gonna win at the track the GSR will end of story thankyou

gsr would take a spec v any time
