I first really noticed Cyndi during the 1984 "We Are The World" session. A very well-intentioned, but schmaltzy bit of songwriting. A mindboggling collection of talent. Dylan, Bruce, Diana, Ray...anyone would have a hard time standing out in a crowd like that.

But that's what Cyndi did. She totally blew it up for me. At about 3 mins into the song she just injects a completely fresh personality into it all.

Embarrassed? Hell no, I LOVE this woman.
