Very interesting ... I did some sniffing around lower S-band last year and detected a number of RADARs (meteorological and ASR) during several heavy rains/thunderstorms ... will have to give this 'mode' a try at 1296 MHz ...

Signals were very strong...almost +30dB over backgrouind noise level.

Jan this is UFB video, although not QRV on 23cm for many years I have experienced RS once on 23cm on nearby beacon in mid 90's. Best 73 de SP9TTG.
