  • i think they stole my shooting sound track :(

  • @TheIrwinf38 We stole your sound track? I uploaded this video 4 years ago!

  • you can put 5 shots in one person with a 9mm he will still be standing

If you put 1 shot in one person with a .45, he wont live to tell it.

  • @MRresievil310 you have obviously NEVER shot someone...

    -us army infantryman.

  • Lean foward it will help with recoil.

  • Proud owner of a Glock 17, but I also have a S&W 4506 that I would keep in reserve.

  • haha, that's why police organizations are going from .40 to 9mm...wait... :)

  • "I'd say it's all personal preference. 9mm has less recoil."

Not necessarily. A lot depends on the design of the gun. To me 9mm feels less controllable than 45 because it's a "snappier". And the 45 leaves a much bigger hole...if I'm going to be shooting at someone I want them to die much quicker.

  • i like how they sound exactly the same

  • @TheDailyToker916 Most high powered guns sound alike.

  • what's the background song? is that dare by gorillaz?

  • You both need to work on your stance and presentation of weapon. Grip could be better too.

Great vid of fun shooting though. Thanks for sharing

  • I choose .45 cal.Why shoot twice?! lol

  • Bad stance people. Come on. Lean forward at the waist.

  • I'd say it's all personal preference. 9mm has less recoil. .45ACP creates a larger wounding effect.

I only prefer the 1911 with .45ACP because that's what I am used to and shoot the best with.

  • cool music bro

    not really

  • What is that song? Is it a remix of Dare?

  • 9mm vs .45, 5.56 vs 7.62, buck shot vs slugs, it all depends on what you are doing, what you are trying to achieve, the range you are at, the ability and accuracy of the shooter, and the controlability of the weapon in the shooter's hands.

I've seen people shoot one cartige as effectively as another person can shoot a different cartige.

    I have a .45 1911 and I dislike 9mm, just like I have a 7.62 and not a 5.56... It works for me, but I don't knock other loads/shooters...

  • Most of the recent comments are arguing old mantras. "Bigger holes!", "More rounds!", "Better penetration"! The thing is...LE has changed its training and concepts considerably based on better statistics and information. If I shoot you in the pelvic bone with a .22mag you will stop and fall. A .22 short in the left eye will stop and die. Its all about shot placement now, not calibre. Shoot what you can control and put steel on target with.

  • @sniper244 It all depends on the situation you find yourself in, shot placement is crucial i agree however drawing from the seat of a car might call for a different technique that could sway towards wanting a bigger round to stop the person instead of shot placement. You might not see their face but perhaps there stomach, in this case I'd want my trusty 45ACP to knock them down and unconcious with one bullet instead of it taking 2 9mm's to go right through them and still be concious.

  • @xXxCHEEZINxXx Depends if you're using BALL ammunition, which is really only good for target shooting, or hydra-shocks super expanding hollow points.

If you're drawing and shooting from a seated position in a car, I'd advise working on point shooting, versus aimed.

  • A 9mm Luger or a .45ACP? I say it doesn't matter. What matters is what's best for the shooter. I carry a 1911. I can handle the recoil, and I can shoot it much more accurately than any other gun and it's the most reliable gun I've ever had.

Whatever it takes to hit your target right?

In terms of ballistics though, a 9mm Luger is a hotter round. Penetrates better. Doesn't create as large of wounding effects as larger rounds though.

.45 is a bigger, slower projectile. More wounding effect

  • the 9m has all the stopping power it needs. dont believe me? get the back end of a dull pen and press it against your chest really hard. now imagine that at 1,000fps and 300 degrees going through your ribs.

  • I have 2 things to say.

    1) I don't agree with anyone who says 9mm and .45 kill the same because having lived in Lakewood, Washington and having seen a person on PCP be shot with 10 9mm rounds and keep running (and were are talking law enforcement rounds here), and his buddy(also on PCP) be shot with 2 .45 rounds (also law enforcement rounds) and go down... no question that the .45 is a strong more dangerous weapon.

    2) I recommend the Springfield XD it comes in a 9mm, .40, and .45 variants

  • Gorillaz- Dare(soulwax remix)

  • good tunes... Gorillaz and Daft Punk

  • 9mm is awesome, it is accurate and it pierces nicely. .45 haves big punch when it hits someone.. 9mm for real combat situations is better I think.

  • 9mm for practical shooting match and for plinking fun.

.45 for carry. That's just me. I like big holes and it's not much slower than running a 9mm.

Carrying 9mm is not inadequate. Don't expect one shot stop (it could happen) in any practical handgun caliber. Shoot until the threat is gone. That means one shot or empty a magazine then reload. You do carry a spare magazine with you, don't you :)

  • for concealed carry I see how a compact 9mm might be the ticket but for home defense when concealment is not an issue. There is no compromise 45 all the way

  • 9mm rules

  • i trust my life with a . 45 thats my opinion but the 9mm baretta or glock 17 which i have shot last week has no kick but was accurate at 75 yards, but the 1911 is fearce

  • I'm old school .45 for me any day of the week. not saying the 9mm's junk just that I prefure .45 ACP

  • the 45 will get the job done in less time but the 9mm will still get the job done

  • The gun you have with you is the important one. Sigg 232 .380 and it's always on me.If I feel high threat, I be taking a shotgun or AK

  • i prefer the 40 S&W because i believe you get the best of both worlds, but a 10mm is also a favorite of mine

  • .45 everytime. I have no proof of this as yet, but it looks like the 40 S+W might be the best of both worlds. Any opinions? facts would be better--lol..

  • My wife shoots 9mm, and so do I. I like 45s also, and 10 mils, and shotguns, but for her...I've stressed 1 hit is better than 10 misses with a bigger gun any day and twice on sunday!

  • I agree that placement is more important that how many shots but I also go with there is no replacement for displacement. Would I feel under armed with a 9 mm, not if I had one loaded with 147 gr HP. But still I'll take a good 45 that I can shoot accurately. Good video an good to see your wife has taken up shooting.

  • I choose the 9 over the 45 because I shot both of these guns today and the 9 has less recoil and I'm awesome with a 9 5 out 5 shots I hit the target

  • i really does not matter what the caliber. it matters about delivering lead on the bad guy faster and more accurate than he can.

You guys should try leaning forward more to manage recoil better.

  • @sukurikm Thanks

  • @sukurikm The caliber does matter, the 9mm doesnt have enough stopping power, but has more penatration, the 45. acp round has alot more stopping power therefore downing the person and making him useless, i have seen i real video of a police officer shoot a guy with a 9mm in the stomach and he mangages to wear it off like it was nothing...

  • @sukurikm you're right, but at the same time wrong. Caliber does take affect on how the shooter performs and how accurate the shot is.

  • Well I like and carry a .45 10+1 and would like the 16+1 mag. However I also think the more rounds you have the more trouble one could get into unless ur L.E.O's

  • I don't follow your logic here. How could having more rounds put you in more danger?

Wouldn't that then mean the less rounds you have the better off you are? So would having 0 rounds make you infinitely safe?

  • I agree with "korbranter".

When the situation calls for it, and you need to take a hostile person down, there's no comparing the 9mm and the .45

With the .45 you are absolutely sure the guy is going down, and stays down

  • they both kill the same....except 9mm kill more on a single mag

  • They don't kill the same, a 45 has much more stopping power. I know you can have +p loads, hollow points, personal defense ammo or whatever to give the 9 more stopping power. My wife has that for her gun and I have all the confidence in the world that she could defend herself with it. But all the above loads are also available for my 45.

  • if i shoot you witha 9mm once or twice you will stop....thats all the stopping power i need

  • I agree! Thats why my wife has one. I don't agree that they are the same.

  • im not disagreeing but my sister had to shoot a home intruder who was on pcp and her 4th 9mm round finally stopped him.all 4 shots were good torso shots but the 4th finaly hit somthing vital. she now has a 45 and a 44mag under her matress.

  • @shawnwade351 i know what you mean, my dads friend in the military said when they were getting over ran in gulf war once, they had seven guys with 9mm and he had a 45, the seven guys were having to shot 3 and 4 bullets into the enemy till they finaly fell, his 45 was droppin em in one shot, i would definately have a 45 over any other handgun size

  • I've seen actual cadavers with 9mm rounds that were stopped by ribs. The bullets penetrated less than an inch. A lot of people could shrug that off and continue attacking. Not to mention the many reports of 9mm rounds being stopped by heavy clothing. They are also useless if you have to shoot through something like a car windshield or door.

If I carried a full size weapon it would be a 10mm. But since I do like to conceal my weapon to avoid the staring, I carry a .40

  • @Zlaja16 Tell that to Michael Platt and William Matix.

Depending on the tenacity of the receiver, and adrenaline levels. People can take a 9mm shot in stride for a few minutes. The lack of stopping power from the 9mm was the main reason for the development .40S&W.

  • @Zlaja16 i have a dash cam video of a bad guy being shot 17 times with a 9mm and kept on going. FYI

  • @lug1 - And you think that emptying your gun with 7 rounds of .45acp would have been better? I will take twice as many rounds of 9mm vs half as many 45acp any day of the week. JMO. PS - yes, I own .45s too.

  • @lug1 Here again, I bet it was Ball ammo. If you compare 9mm and .45 ACP that way, then yes, the .45 Ball will stop the assault faster. If you're using hollow points, it's an even match.

  • @Zlaja16 Probably true enough for most situations. However, that is not true in the military. Some of the guys they have to take out, 9mm just doesn't stop them. You need to blow them apart to make them stop NOW, and 45 does that. Actually the damage comparision is remarkable.

  • I trust and prefer the 45 myself over the 9mm. I own two 45's and 2 9mm's and if I had to defend myself I would have to grab the .45 first. I have a Glock 21 with 13 shot magazines. Thanks for the vid! Have lot's more fun together. The family that shoots together stays together!

  • True ! Remember, many gang bangers are alive to tell their stories of being shot and living thanks to 9MM popularity on the streets... You don't hear this sort of thing when it comes to being hit with the Mack truck of ACP rounds.... .45ACP !! Learn how to shoot .45ACP if you ever need it for defense guys, it's worth it !!

  • @korbranter as long as you hit what your trying to hit dead is dead. knock down force is only a big issue for bears and crack heads. and if needed a follow up shot will be more accurate with a lower recoil.

  • I like the 9mm because it has less kick, is easy to rapid fire, holds more rounds, and is universal all over the globe.

If I want a more potent firearm I prefer a shotgun, 30-06 or AR-15 depending on the situation.

  • 9 mm holds 16+1 verses 8 or 10+1.

In a fight which one do you want?

  • 45 you put them where they need to be

  • which do you prefer, 9mm or .45?

  • I prefer 45

  • power comes from the barrell of a gun

  • I should be standing on her right !!!

  • why?

  • My casings are ejected from the right side of my gun. Plus its louder on that side. You can see her adjust her ear plug after I start shooting.

  • Real gentlemen stand on the left :)

  • Assuming you're in the USA,is it legal in your country to shoot with handguns outdoors (quarry,field,desert,woods...)?Don't get caught doing that here in Canada where law-abiding citizens with a gun are treated like the worst criminals.

  • I PRAY that it never comes to that here , with the gun grabbing democrats in power. (JOIN THE NRA)

  • Just think with all the economic problems they want to destroy more jobs by raising prices and banning certain models of guns. Yep, it's a good thing we don't need the top brass thinking about important things, you know like companies outsourcing jobs, or education.

  • what we need to do is keep our jobs here in the united states, and start puting the money towards the jobs that we have, and start taxing the hell out the companies who ship them jobs over seas so we get our money, im sort of a demacrat, but not compleetly, it is an amandemnt right TO BARE ARMS!!! we have the right to own and fire, a firearm, and the only reason this right is in danger is beacuse there are dumb asses that dont know what a gun is for, and go kill people with them! >=(

  • HELL YEAH!

  • Hahaha HELL YEAH!!!

  • Its a tough subject. Yes gun laws here in Canada are pretty harsh but fire arm related crimes including homicides are way lower. I shoot pistols so i'm kinda torn... i dunno... at least every wackjob doesn't have access to a handgun.

  • It kinda depends on where you live. In Many places it totally fine. But in some there are tons of idiotic liberals who are terrified of guns because they do not know anything about them. The fact we have stupid gangs with illegal weapons giving law abiding, safe gun owners a bad rap isnt good either. We are definitely more free about it down here though.

  • DARE

  • Its all in the shot placement... Tell ya what... you shoot me in the foot with a .45 and I'll shoot you in the head with a .22. Then we can see who gets to the ER first...

  • Who had the .45?

  • I had the 45 and my wife had the 9.

  • wow, great video, really interesting.

  • I prefer the .45 of course!

  • .45's RULE!!! I love the power

  • ill take a 45.acp over a nine mill any day.

  • whcih does more damage? .45 or 9mm??????

  • The 45.

  • .45 does, but because it is slightly larger the clips usually care a few less rounds than the 9mm.

  • i perfer the 45

  • i perfer the 45

  • i perfer a 9mm

  • why?

  • 9mm = lower recoil which = quicker following shots. 9mm also allows for a smaller weapon for concealed carry, and with proper ammo (gold dots or fed hst) has plenty of stopping power.

    (personally i prefer .40 S&W as a happy median)

  • exactly why the us military sadly replaced the m1911 colt 45 for the 9mm glock, quicker folloing shots, better concealment and carry, greater ammo capacity both on the weapon and on person, despite the fact the colt 45 is more powerful, the 9mm is powerful enough i guess. quote me if im wrong, the colt 45 only holds 7 rounds wile the glock holds 10, and there is less recoial, but if its power you want, go for the colt 45

  • I'm not sure why they changed to the 9. The 1911 uses the 45 apc round not the 45 colt. I was told that the special forces continued to use the 45 apc. Capacity of todays guns vary greatly

  • its .45 acp... not 45 apc..^^ LOL

  • The us military didnt replace the 1911 with a glock, they replaced it with a POS baretta M9, and they issue FMJ 9mm ammo (i kept hydrashocks in mine) and they are relatively ineffective, i put 6 rounds into a guy and it disabled him but i still had to use 6 rounds to get him down. On the flip side i saw and ODA operator pull his H&K USP .45 and completely evicerate a guy with a controled pair almost tearing him in half and instantly droping him, combat tested infantry approved 45 every time.

  • i hate how we still use ineffective rounds. The only reason they chose 9mm over 45 is because thats what europe uses. We switched over to 9mm after WWII so we could have exchangeable ammo with Britain, France and etc. We really need to go back with the stronger round.

  • The US military uses Baretta M9s, not Glocks. They hold 15+1 rounds.

  • Don't some carry a 1911?

  • only in video games. According to NATO all side arms for regular soldiers carry 9mm and carbine rifles are 5.56mm If a soldier would carry anything else it would be something he has procured on the job. Which would more than likely not be a 1911. The only real .45 acp handguns used by military are the USP and USP Tactical. Some special forces still use the better but heavier Mk.23 if you don't know what that is, sometimes in video games its called the SOCOM.

  • i dont think they use 1911 anymore maybe but i know they used to. i dont think 1911 offers enough mag capacity for em :)

  • Well, you do realize there are double stacked 1911s right?

  • Special Operations Forces do (generally, the Army SF guys will use them, SEAL's use P226's mostly), and some Marine's

  • The US Military uses Beretta M9s, not Glocks. The M9 holds 15+1 rounds.

  • If you are talking about standard millitary issue, they never used glocks. They are currently using the Beretta 92f. Holds 15 rounds.

  • If you are a bad person looking looking at the business end of a .45 being pointed at you is more persuasive then the business end of a 9mm.

  • Damn straight

  • 9 mil all the way baby

  • I wish i could meet a girl who likes guns like i do...Most of them think i'm weird or some kind of psycho....I have a female friend who goes shooting with me though, but she is taken, godammit :(

  • So win her over!

    :)

  • just a tip, lean forward more... anyway... lucky man ;)

  • it is great to see females in the sport but I think both of them should work on their shooting stance.

  • True. Many husbands and wives have no common interests. Sometimes I wonder how in the world we stay together 30 years.

  • People nowadays don't. Divorce is 50% of marriages.

  • One fortunate man to be married to a woman who will go out shooting with him. Very fortunate!

    Oh, . . . I think she won! :-)

  • That's a man who knew how to choose a wife, that's what we are looking at. Most of us our jealous! The average woman can only handle a purse at the mall, if you get my drift.

  • NICEEE!!
