If you keep loving on her & caring well for her, she will be a cuddler for Life! It makes me sad that eclectus hens get such a bad rap. They can be excellent pets! :) Keep on loving her & playing with her, & teach her tricks! It sounds like a cute activity, but actually it's very important! Trick training helps our birds engage their minds and bond w/ us more thoroughly! Feel free to write anytime with questions! Congratulations on having your very own ekkie! ^_^

@SheWhoFeels You know I'm just now reading that people have heard bad things about Ekky females, but when I spoke to an expert, he advised me to get a female? This will be my first large parrot - I've had budgies before & they were a lot of fun, but after seeing some Macaws I really wanted one. After doing several months of research, i realized a Macaw was out of my depth, and I'd be better off starting with something smaller & less challenging. The Ekky came highly recommended...but now idk??

@yorkheardt Welcome to Ekkie Land! Are they not the msot amazing birds? Hens get a bad rep and it is extremely unfortunate. Some birds may get broody and aggressive after puberty, but even then only in certain situations. Skylar was an angel. Like all birds, they choose us; some are one-person birds & may not do well with others. If she's yours and you don't have nesting spaces accessible to her, she will likely stay lovey and sweet! I wouldn't *not* get an ekkie hen. They are awesome! :)

How old is skylar? My baby is 18wks and is so cuddly but people say she'll grow out of it :(
