Yeah, thanks. This made me feel much better about asking my parents to buy it for me. I want a pet, but we can't in our small apartment, so PLEO's great! It also cheered me up after watching a horrible video of PLEO being murdered. I mean literally. Some scumbags tortured the little guy to death! I'm going to have nightmares for days now. T.T

Lol yah I hear yah. I maybe goofed around with the thing for a few days and haven't touched it since. Only take it out for a few minutes each time they upgrade the software.

Never wanted kids, but should think about it, gives me a reason to buy this crap. Have you seen the robotic triceratops that kids can ride!

Great review. Really helpful. I was thinking of buying one, but the paint comes off, the battery lasts about an hour and then needs to charge again. At the moment I don't think it's worth the money you pay for it.

well, the paint comes off because of use. The battery is used up in an hour because PLEO has 14 motors which is huge. Besides, if you want to play more with it you can just buy an extra battery. plus, ITS SOOO CUTE!!! I am SO asking my parents for one.

For an adult if you are really interested in robotics or dinosaurs, I say yes. If not than I would not bother picking on up.

As for kids, they love him and he's def worth it.

I agree Pleo is for younger kids as the reviewer suggests. I owned a Pleo and unfortunately became bored with it's predictability in a very short time. Ugobe's idea of AI is clearly not what most of us think it is. Additionally it's skin flakes where you pet it and it's teeth chip plus the battery lasts only one hour with around 3 hours to recharge it despite most people's claims. It's cute for sure, but still very much just a toy.

Very well done review. Are you finding that they are continuing to push the software forward?

Thanks! Yah they continue to put out new features. They just released one that puts your pleo into watchdog mode a week or so ago. Third parties are also jumping in and producing their own software. Just downloaded one the other day that lets you monitor pleo's stats in real time, including viewing and hearing what his sensors are. Its pretty neat to see through your pleo's eyes and ears.

Well the new software updates have really added alot to his LifeOS. Object detection is much better for example. Is he worth $350? I don't know I think $250 would be perfect.

Do Pleos interact with each other?

Yes they do - the have an IR sensor that will recognise another Pleo, and go and say hello etc.

Yes they do. Although I have never seen it personally. I am sure you can find some videos on here about it.
