@monkeyfresh1 you dont need them, but yes wetsuits help ALOT during a hurricane swell because they bring in the open water which is alot colder then near the shore, i went surfing in OBX during this hurricane and wish i had brought a wetsuit the water was prolly bout 60 degrees.

There's plenty of reasons: Good reasons why one doesn't give away the location, so if you know where this is, keep it to yo self! Good reasons: A. Some rookie bounces their head off a rock and surfing is banned at said spot. B. Overpopulation. C. Respect its allure and tranquility.

Hurricane gert, 1997 I was surfing the corner w/ only 3 others out while everyone else was surfing the left on the other side. I think called generals or something. Long time ago. Noah Snyder showed up that day w/ Aaron Chang, Chang made a t-shirt from a photo of the corner that day.

i live in oc maryland and it was sick. we went to delaware at this place called indian river and it was triple overhead breaking out on the shoals and by the time it got to us like double overhead and clean, it was really really fun

Sunday morning. Saturday was going off too, but the winds were all wrong. i think it peaked overnight and Sunday morning had the offshore winds you see here.

We had some tasty left overs Sunday, nothing even remotely close to that. Im not sure our Saturday was even that good. (unless this is some secret spot)

We had double overhead + bombs at times, but mostly it was about 3-4 feet overhead.

A day to remember for sure.

Sick Vid! I edit videos too, and I was wondering what type of camera you think would be best for about $1000 or if you have any input. Right now the JVC Handycam ain't exactly cutting it

Thanks. There are a lot of more affordable HD video cameras out now. for $1000 you could get something nice. I think canon makes some decent portable HD cameras for around that price. Just search around a bit, make sure you look at lots of user samples of what the image quality looks like. Also if you can get features like external mic inputs that's a big plus.

Thanks. I have this issue sometimes too. It helps if you let the video load entirely before you play it, also it's probably just your internet connection. A faster internet connection always seems to help.

Haha! Ian Walsh catches the red eye from Hawaii because he knew RI was going to be good. But, you thought it was going to be a bust and don't drive 75 miles? The only time it really gets big in RI is around approaching hurricanes and noreasters. For future reference, if you see a hurricane tracking up the East Coast and it's east of the U.S. and west of Bermuda, you can bet that it won't be a "bust" in RI.

I should have known better. They were predicting 30 feet on Friday and then the storm went east and they were talking 10 feet. It looks from the videos more like 15-20. I will know better next time. It should be interesting to see what Danny brings.

I see barrels all winter on the east facing beaches, you should check out north shore of Mass., and NH, in winter the prevailing wind is offshore and swells come in for days as the storms gradually recede into the N. Atlantic
