@musicalbenj its funny cause i remember watching your one of you playing the guitar before i made the project, and inspired me to include the guitar scene in mine as well. i reckon your work is much better though.
@fireforge1979 In all, photoshop, after effects, premiere pro and QuickTime pro. But mostly it was photoshop where the rotoscoping and drawing happened and QuickTime pro to combine all the images together.
i have a question about your video, you said it took about 4 months to make, but did u work on it everyday? how many hours a week and in total did you work on it? if you dont mind answering
@johnthenater being already two years ago, i remember that i worked on it everyday. for the hours i can't really remember, but maybe 4 hours. there were times i remember that i could complete 1 or 2 scenes in a week, for more difficult or complicated scenes maybe more. but i had a due date to hand this in, so things had to be rushed.
This is really great dude, i do some rotoscoping and some animations, yours is particularly good... however the video seems much more a practice of a tech demo than a finished idea, i feel like he should have done something or we were given a story of some kind... none the less, well done!
@Tomahawk1505 yeah for my class, the story wasn't that important, I just wanted to demonstrate the technique, which gave me the majority of marks. But sometime in the future i might want to come back and do another one, with a more creative storyline or something.
@mwoesik77 Yeah, thats why it seems alot of people don't choose to do it. But if you have some good ideas, and have enough time, and are willing to put hours and hours into this, then you can probably make something really great. But first planning should be begun really really early, and what your gonna do should be decided on soon, otherwise there won't be enough time by the end of it.
it was just a title i wanted to make for the video. the type of animation is called "rotoscope" animation, plus its an ani"mation" so "roto-mation." not that imaginative of a title i know.
@shimmmer93 Well i mainly used Adobe Photoshop. just individually drawing the lines and paint. then QuickTime PRO to compile them. BUT, it took very very very long, and time consuming. There maybe better ways to do this, u can have a look on google, but i used this from Benjamin arthur who made once upon a time in the woods. you should check that out as well.
Good luck on your major work, i suggest u start early, or brainstorm ur ideas and get some planning and storyboarding done ASAP.
@trastulo well first of all i hand drew it by using a graphics tablet. and if i had tried to make it seem less jittery, that may have taken double the time, and over the time limit i had. and its called the "boil" in the industry, where it shakes and quivers, and is often used to artistic effect. for me i didn't want it to seem too perfect, and mainly for the time restraints i had.
@ncdc123 it varied alot. i reckon probably 5 to 10 hours. sometimes even more, since i needed to get it done by august. at times i had to take the whole day, and the rest of my holidays. u gotta take days off though, u just cant be fucked sometimes. if u think ur gonna make one, then u'd better start early. i cut out some stuff in mine, and the end product wasnt really what i expected, and i wanted the quality to be much more higher.
damn man i really want one now...u should design one for me:P
