  • I learned the hard way... see them when you can ... just go .. go out there and see any show ! arnoge THANK YOU 4 seeing this one thu

  • I saw JS in Tokyo at a concert a year or so before JS died and he was just great. It was a bit like an emotional family reunion. What I really loved was seeing so many people in their 30s and 40s young at heart, but also a whole new generation (or two! ;-)) enjoying it. And boy, didn't Joe and his magnificent Mes DELIVER. It was great!!! Like watching the older brother you admire giving everything. In the end, he gave his heart.

  • Hi.. I was just at Desmond's Bar in NYC and on the cd player.. they had a song by Joe and the Mascaleros and it sounded like an instrumental.. I asked the bartender and he told me who it was.. but not the song title. Does anyone know if he played a song that was sort of Celtic? I know.. for a ROCKER.. sounds unlikely.. but I heard it. 8o)

    Thanks for any info..

    Deb

  • Hello Deb,

The song is Minstrel Boy from the Global A Go-Go album.

It has been used as the end credit on Black Hawk Down.

You can also watch the recording of the song in the documentary I edited: "Let's rock again !"

    Best

  • this is really one of those songs where every cover I've heard so far is incredibly good.

  • Gotta say Toots does it SO much better than this. Not to diss the mescaleros but I think this is one of those inimitable pieces.
