it's sad to see great black actresses only limited to racial stereotypical roles. Halle Berry isn't that great of an actress please but she gets great roles because she's light skinned and she can pass for white or mixed white. If u're light skinned u will get more and better roles. Halle Berry isn't a great actress please
@Tonster1998 Come on. Halle is not that light. And the problem with this film is the script. The characters are too 2 dimmensional and predictable. they're just all good or all bad. That doesnt leave much for the actors to work on. Sana Lathan's character was just not belivable enough. this needed a better script.
I'm an asian guy and I love Tyler Perry's movies. His best are Why Did I Get Married 1 and 2?, For Colored Girls,& the Family That Preys. Boy can Janet Jackson act. Everytime she cries onscreen i'm sure she's thinking of Michael Jackson. :(It's sad when great black actresses r only limited 2 stereotype roles. Halle Perry
Honestly, I was about to write off this movie as a typical Tyler perry movie, brought down by black stereotypes and an excess of drama but actually it was very good. Granted, there are some draw backs of course, its not a masterpiece but I found it very enjoyable. Acting was great on the parts of Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard!
Tyler Perry is a badass writer!!! Effin love him! Why he is still single I'll never know! Haha he's written some amazing stuff! I loved his movies why did I get married and why did I get married too?
Lol just figured out what title really ment. Yeah yeah... I thought this was a great movie it had many lessons on life. I totally don't and wouldn't never codone hitting a woman let alone (slapping the toaster stroodle out of your wife). I must say at that particular emotional momment, she almost desired it. This movie was a great watch and something I look forward to enjoying again.
@TheJem701 Sorry, I don't know why my video didn't show up on my Selected Videos but if you go to my Channel, you can get it there. It's titled: MADEA's message to ELIN and SANDRA - don't cry out loud.
@TheJem701 Do you have to answer any surveys? Most of those websites that will offer you movies to watch for free, usually make you have to go thru a lot of surveys so I DON'T JOIN. Just my opinion, but I think here are 2 women that definitely can use MADEA's help. Check my video above out. P.S.: I so can't stand BEYONCE either. I miss En Vogue (I believe that's the name) . . . but Miss Thang WANTED TO BE THE BIG CHEESE.
@TheJem701 Yes, that's what I meant to type . . . my bad. About your question of the SON.. I'm assuming that they are divorced and even though she threw it in his face that the child was not his, he probably is paying her child support because after all, he raised the little boy and still loves him and knows he had nothing to do with who his father is . . . and it was mother that was the SKANK.
I like all of Tyler Perry movies and I've got everyone of them except MADEA GOES TO CHAIR. Hasn't been on my Cable TV Channel yet to rent so my son's gonna buy it for me. I had to borrow MADEA for 2 beautiful women who are married to men of notoriety and wealth that are also Serial Cheaters. MADEA's gonna show them exactly how to deal with his dilemna.
1 timohty 6:10"the love of money is the root of all evil. many thru wander from the true faith and pierce themselves thru with many sorrows." this movie is a true modern day analogy of this verse. when you think you have the right to place yourself over another individual, you end up becoming the very thing you hate the most.
1 timothy 6:10 "the love of moeny is the root of all evil. many people thru it wander from the true faith and pierce themselves with many sorrows." no movie brings this verse to modern day life than this one here. whoever sees this, cannot help but marvel over how so many people, by thinking they have the right to determine who is or is not significant based on what they have and dont have, end up being the ones left with nothing while those they despised end up thriving and prospering
You know I saw Tyler Perry's Bio on TV and it stated that his movies are geared for Black people. I feel his movies can be for all people no matter what ones ethnicity is. I am an American of Asian heritage and let me tell you . . . MADEA is my NANA. I was born in the '40s and my neighborhood looked like the United Nations. We never had any race problems 'cause we were all poor and religious. We treated every neighbor as an equal. I miss those good ole days.
@amarettaludia the reason his movies and shows are geared towards black people are partly because we are always seen in a negetive light as gangsters and druggies and living in the so called hood and there arent many roles out there for black people. or you dont see to many black people out there in the industry in roles like playing the doctors and the lawyers. but thats part of what i got from what he said about why his work is geared towards blacks
b/c it's an oxymoron and irony. there is a familiar phrase that says: the family that "prays" together stays together. in this movie there is a lot of betrayal, lie, and deceit between to the families. So the phrase would be: the family that "preys" is soon to bee torn apart.
@psyhobill5150 I think Tyler was trying to show how these 2 independent women each had a child that "preyed on their own mother". Kathy Bates said above: "my family tends to prey on the weakest". Both women loved, supported their children with the best education yet each woman (Kathy and Alfre) had their own child "disrespect them".

Both women loved, supported their children with the best education yet each woman (Kathy and Alfre) had their own child "disrespect them". Kathy gave the CEO position to Robin Givens instead of son and Alfre took grief from her children for helping a homeless man and thru his advice, she became rich .
it's been running on the Cable Network all this week, I know because I rented it on Cable movie channel DEMAND and now it's running for FREE either on the channel that gives you HOUSE OF PAYNE or STZ (I'm not in front of my TV to tell you what channel it is) and I was pretty pissed because I PAID FOR IT. I have all of Madea's movies except MADEA GOES TO JAIL. Also, I believe this is wht's wrong with the younger generation of today; they have no respect for what their parents went thru.
I just taped MADEA'S FAMILY REUNION last night and if you watch the scene with Cicely Tyson chastizing the younger generation for having no love for each other and the fact that the're more concerned about the "latest dances (bumping and booty shaking) and the skippy attire (she says the young girls wearing skimpy clothes showing their thighs) and getting into fights. She told them to stop and turn around and show some love for each other that they all are better than that and to PRAISE GOD.
omg i have seen this movie like 3 times on tv but i always miss the beginning so i never knew the title but now i know and i'm so happy!!!!
