Chinese communists are very bad at forging alliance. Their minority allies were the Uighurs, and we all know from the news, how great their alliance is today.
In contrast, ROC's allies the Hui and the Yunnan tribes were relatively loyal despite the repression imposed on them by Chicom today. That said, CCP's policy on minority is an epic failure, ROC is hundred times better even if there were so many wars in the 1930s.
Mao Zedong is a big suckup to Stalin, it is funny how so many people see him as an independent hero. The only reason he broke up with USSR is because post Stalin Russia actually denounced Stalin and his tyranny.

I actually think Republic of China did the best they could. It is important to noted the Chinese army that fought Japan in WW2 is not entirely composed of 中華民國 or the Kuomintang but instead many other warlords and the communists. (it is intresting to noted a ww2 game was banned in China because it depicted China separated into 6 to 7 factions in 1936, which is actually the reality) Take out the performance Yan Xishan and many ROC era warlords, the real ROC army didn't do too bad.
@Balencian Good point about China's situation during WWII. There were fighting amongst themselves and when the Japanese invaded, they don't have one united army, but a rather weak mixed forced to try and fend themselves off. Many people from the west don't know about this and just assume China was weak and unable to defend itself. In reality, they have weakened themselves making it easy for an invasion.

收复台湾，也是说"国民政府",
当然高中历史必修中对于国军正面战场的篇幅显然过少,但近几年已不断增加，而新四军、八路军的篇幅在不断减少。

People need to realize that CCP and KMT are NOT enemies after all after Deng xiaoping took over the control of political power. The history is the history. Their only common enemy is DPP in Taiwan. If both sides negotiate each other under the 一中兩制 i am pretty sure there will be no war between them.

Wrong. KMT and CCP's conflict only started to wane in 2005 when the KMT visited the mainland. That was when the two parties' relationships started to better because of same interests, which is the opposition of the DPP. The KMT and CCP are still "enemies" though, it's just not full blown warfare.
