i have black one, but i have 1GB of ram and 110 GB hard drive and i'm still using old Xp home, can i upgrade to windows 7 ?

No big deal, ive bought a mini 1012 it came with windows 7 starter and that edition is crap.

@Huntrex82 Yes man, type "Windows 7 starter to home premium" in youtube, you will find some videos with some "anytime upgrade keys" which you gonna put in your windows, press the start button and type in the search box "Anytime" It will find a program called windows anytime upgrade and then you put the key inside, after that it will upgrade itself to Windows 7 HOME PREMIUM. And you can't change your background and the windows color, theses a restricted because you are on windows 7 starter. :P

people i suggest you stay with windows xp on this laptop because it has less eye candy and is a lighter os, i promis you will see inpovement :)

mine run windows ultimate too but it kinda lag when browsing. my daughter crack the screen and called the service centre they told me not to use windows 7( not recommended) and the ram can go as far as 1gb or if we put 2gb it s still runs like 1gb.

@ShabbaNasty I don't know. Beat me. I bought two actually the other for my wife. and still using XP. But mine is in the closet( crack lcd and they ask RM 800 just to repair it) Just check their website the newer mini 10v is pre-installed with Win 7 starter. maybe they meant windows 7 ultimate not recommended. I don't know.

yup sure can.... and u can download the drivers for win 7 on the dell website. the mini supports xp vista and now windows 7 but when it first came out it only has support for xp i love my mini 10!

yes everything works but u cant install any of the cds that the dell mini 10 came with. when u format the HD windows 7 installs the video sound and Ethernet driver's its all basic stuff and its just a beta verson of windows 7.

its on microsoft's website, go to microsoft . com(without spaces of course) and search windows 7, its called windows 7 RC it may be a bit of a long download but its worth it.
