@Dimitry49 Hi there, I have the Logitech G9x but to be honest I dislike the gimmicky style of it. Also it feels a bit uncomfortable on my pinky as the mouse is so shapely and there is nowhere to rest it. I am thinking an ambidextrous mouse would be more comfortable and this mouse looks and apparently performs great. Could you let me know if this SteelSeries Xai would be better? Also I do like a bit of weight to my mice so that is something to bare in mind. Thanks a lot.
Best mouse from Steelseries right there. I'm in I do use the Ikari Optical and Laser back in a while ago but this truly is the best. Can't wait to see the Sensei.
in my opinion the built quality in xai is the best i've ever seen in a mouse! for me it was a bit too heavy and it's also balanced a bit more to the back (back-heavy). i also didn't find it so comfortable because the back of the mouse is quite wide! the sensor is awful for cloth mouse pads like qck - sensor skips and jitters (negative acceleration) but it's quite ok for hard mousepads. i personally still prefer optical sensor over laser. it's very glidy mouse and buttons feel great.
@SimpleFire100 I have a white backdrop with a background support system + two umbrella lights to blow out the whites! so yeah, a small home studio for photography and video from anything as small as the mouse, all the way to full size person photography. :))) want a tour?
im currently looking at a setup for my channel i have found a 80x80 cowboy mini studio, but i have 2nd toughs as it might be too small, but it come whit 2 lights and 4 backgrounds... hmm i dono
so are you gonna start doing cromakey backgrounds now, in your videos when you sit and talk full size..!?
@JucruAH No, i meant CPI, Counts Per Inch. Head one over to SteelSeries site to read more about that. Apparently, its a more accurate measurement of how precise your mouse is and gives the user a really good correlation between how much you move the mouse and how much it moves on the screen! I should have explained that a lil' in the video!
@SuperNiko911 Before Xai, and still do, i have Logitech G9 which i would 100% recommend to anyone. Now i have both, so i can recommend both lol! G9 is much better built quality, but the sensor is worse. better movement and tracking with Xai.
i had this mouse, and after 2 month of gaming the click1 button was dead.. it just didnt click anymore, very weak quality if u ask me. now i have razer deathadder and its 10x better in my opinion.
@Astrix321 Really? Thats unfortunate to hear! yes, some SS products are poorly built, i had to RMA my 7H headset after 3months, but within a week i had another pair sent to me from them, so great service there. The Xai feels like that as well, cheap construction, i guess it feels like that due to its weight.
@Dimitry49 if you are a mad gamer that presses hard on your mousebuttons it wont last very long thats for sure. compared to the buttons on the deathadder its dirt. i was really disappointed about xai.
This looks like a very good choice for lefties, since not many high-end mice are ambidextrous or left handed. I have a G700 which works quite nice for me.
@xxveskoxxbg Well, you have to always look at cons and pros..at first, i was skeptical switching from my own Logitech G9 to Xai, but after a week i fell in love..lol. while it is basic, that is only in appearance, and has all of the functions that my G9 has, except the customizable weight. Razer naga seems to be too busy, like a phone pad on the side..personally a big no for me but go to a store, see how it feels. You pay so much for Xai due to name, research, & competition.!
Nice, I asked you to review this mouse a while ago, nice that you "accepted the challenge!". By the way, I've always wondered, do you pay for the stuff you review youself or do you contact the company behind it and they send it to you?
@RestoNordrassil haha, yes i remember you. SteelSeries had sent this and another product for review (in-works), so yes i contact the company, let them see my channel, and hope they reply! Although i still purchase other products myself,so just depends what company decides to send out review samples!
@DSR505 I have the Logitech G9, which i really like, as its heavier and very comfortable as well, although i noticed that my aiming has improved with the Xai, so for now i stick to SS.

Great quality mate.

Hi Dimity,
for a gaming mouse of that price, arn't there many many other mice which would be significantly better ?
I feel like I'd be getting ripped off if I'd spend that much on a mouse which is so basic.
True enough i have a 20£ gaming mouse right now ( X-748K Oscar ) - but I'm looking for an upgrade and strongly considering the razer naga.
Baring in mind I play lots of FPS games, my main focus is MMO's like WoW - which require many buttons to keybind to.
Why is this mouse so expensive ?
