Hoenn was a landmark because it gave us another starring character: May. Despite whar some Gen 1 and 2 fandboys will tell you, I think that this was a great idea. It gave a whole new life ro the series and it showed that Pokemon mastery can go beyond Gym battles.

The first gen was probably slightly too short with only 1 1/2 series, and all the rest drag on too long... what does this mean? Simple, have each region go for 2 series. problem solved.

New IV/EV system

Retention of Brock as a Character

Lets not forget May, a character that set apart Advance Generation from the original.

Even Max played an amazing role because unlike the trios of the other three Pokemon Generations, Advance Generation did it right with a quartet.

The games were also extremely fun as well! Going from Pokemon Yellow into Pokemon Ruby was an amazing leap.

The Third Generation truly brought Pokemon to life, despite what some First and Second Generation fanboys may say.

The original dragged on in mid Johto,

AG dragged on in the middle of Hoenn, which gave the Battle Frontier arc less episodes,

DP especially dragged since it took the same amount of episodes as AG, despite being only one region; and lets not forget the 85 or so fillers from Snowpoint Gym to Sunnyshore Gym...

However, the actual amount of fillers it took to advance the plot in Pokemon DP took 52 exact episodes from Snowpoint to Sunnyshore. 52 is simply two much. Yes, Ash and co, had a lot of traveling to do, but stretching fillers 52 episodes long is simply too much..
