I wanted to like this - I really did but it seems like quality control was seriously lacking. Things appear & disappear, poor lip sync, VO quality (major pops on the vocal mics).
It really feels like it was going for good enough instead of something excellent. Kinda sad.
"Yes, I shall let this complete stranger meet the most important person in this city, without a weapons check or second glance. I'm the best bodyguard ever, second only to Homer Simpson."
Wow, when you adapt a hundred year old book, I expect some creative changes THAT MAKE MORE SENSE! Of course this is oz, so it's expected.
While I respect the scope of the project, there are basic issues that could have been addressed. There are knee pops everywhere. Every character seems to lack weight and puncuated gestures, as well as good posing. And that's EVERYTHING. Please don't think I'm just giving you crap, but you could try to pay attention to these faults and concentrate on more quality than quantity, even if it takes longer to get out to the public. It all just seems a little sloppy on the crews' part.
I'm kinda surprised that they let this be the final version since I've seen a few rendering errors so far. Like at 7:07 where the tree randomly shakes for some reason.
Everything about this is great- except the voice acting. Sorry, but it could be better. A lot better, actually. Although, for a bunch of fans scattered around the world, this was a great achievement.
Ooooooo I like it so far!! And Woot has such a Neill-ish look to him that really makes me happy. I can't wait to see how you've done Polly! Don't worry though, I will wait- I don't believe in skipping scenes! ;-)
I've viewed the whole thing and really enjoyed it. The character and set design are great as is the texturing. The animation isn't Pixar but you get the performance of the dialogue and action. The voices and songs are great too....better than in some big budget features! :)
Maybe some more comedy could have been woven into the script for kids.
I participated and I'm glad people are enjoying it. Yes, there will be a dvd available soon. Keep an eye on the description for a link. It'd be nice to know what people think of the movie so we can learn from it even more.
Also, I'm not sure what the heck is going on with DOF.

Wow! I don't doubt the animator's zeal, but really? In this day and age? Check out blender. They're free and good..

This is just so awesome. A bunch of strangers in real life collaborated on this project. Great job guys. Animation Master is such great software.

@5amura1 Agreed. The second movie is an improvement in this department. This isn't a money making exercise but a learning one.

the characters look really stiff - but i still like it!

@MooTelevision Thanks. The first scenes were the first we animated, so they loosen up a little later.

@IMChrisThom Actually, it's not the final version on youtube. However, the error you point out would be considered minor and probably not addressed.

This OK for the amount of work they put into it.
The voiceacting and quality of the recording is pretty bad.

This is very, very well done. I can't beleive that a group of fans made it...great character designs as well. Reminds me of the animated show Reboot.

Very nice to see the final product!

Very good, I love the build of the characters, the props and the animation.
I only find some of the jittering on some parts of the rendering annoying, probablly due to compression.
Really well done, especially for a group project!

I like the guard. He seems to be well animated. The design of the scarecrow and the tin man are very cool.
Very very ambitious. Congratulations to all involved. I'm sure you all learned a lot.
