Left and Right are value terms. When the first german constitution came to office, the extreme-left were the conservative democrats. The "middle" section was the party which favourized the constitutional monarchy. Under this definition, I guess you are surely extreme-left.

I've had the privilege of living in both countries, have citizenship in both and I served in the US military and I can tell you, first hand, that Canada has far more liberties than that of the US which can attributed to proper journalism in Canada because Canadians demand to be in the know.

Canadians don't fight over stupid shit like Prop 8, abortion rights, health care, voter fraud, gun rights and education just to name a few. There all non issues.

Canadians can remove their leaders with one vote of no confidence. Provinces can easily separate from the rest of Canada without repercussion, try seceding from the union see what that gets ya. It's a totally secular society separation of church and is no brainer.
