  • expensive capo

  • back at Ya! Great Voice!

  • nice job. i'm attempting as a beginner guitar player to learn this song. This is the only good video on youtube of the guitar part.

  • your voice adds something different to the song... but good. I like it. its unique.

  • well done my friend

and a Happy New Year to you

  • I love listening to you sing this song...so perfect..I'm going to have to check out the Decemberists..

    faved and playlisted..

    Robby

  • your voice is becoming so familiar that im kind of liking whatever you sing! (the picking its so hard!!! cant do it yet!) :)

  • Thank you, Popautor! Switching from picking to brushing's a little tricky on this one, but it's not too bad. It'll probably hit you all at once, that's what happened to me. And I would have printed lyrics for you, but I don't own the rights...next original though. Take it easy.

  • Awesome song Josef..r melodica ight from the heart Man! Hey and the melodica sounds great in this one..Good stuff Bro

    Rocket

  • Excellent!!!

  • Not familiar with the band, but I just might check them out. Nice performance man.

  • Really WELL DONE!

Appendage Song always get me out on a limb!

  • haha...nice!!

  • nice performance...apeman, peace & stars

  • So that's the melodica I've been hearing... I've got a light blue one too. I think they're coming back in a big way! I'm not as familiar with the Decemberists as maybe I should be, judging from the few songs I've heard they have a lyrical style I really dig.

  • Hey Raul. You have a melodica? It hasn't made its small-screen debut yet, has it? Don't recall it in any of your vids. I'd highly recommend checking out the Decemberists. If you're motivated, I'd look into the album "Her Majesty". Later.

  • "Mighty Fine Pickin" Cool Song.

  • Thanks you, Left Hook.

  • This is a fantastic song. Never heard it before. I love your performance here. Just had to put it into my favorites!

  • wonderful josef! i've never heard this song, but i really liked it!

  • Thanks, Laura! So glad you like it, I'd recommend the original!

  • Nice picking and welcome melodica break. Heck, . . I'm so old, I remember when they were the cool 'new thing' in schools!

  • haha...thank you, Stu. Don't know where I've been...a relatively new instrument to me. Always behind the curve. Cheers!

  • fantastic tune Josef, great idea of adding the new instruments to build upon your repertoire. The streets will love you.Pleasure to listen to.Cheers,Ed

  • Thanks, Ed. I'm working on my street act! But with the economy the way it is...it may come quicker than expected. haha. Ciao.

  • you're quite good at guitar picking, it's impressive, and i also enjoyed the melodica and overall atonal-indieness!

  • Just fantastic. Great song choice and amazing delivery.

  • Self effacement can be sweet when its true but its just annoying when used to point out your talent.

HAHA Just kidding I wanted to try for a quotable moment but I only succeeded in annoying myself.

  • haha...well it gave me a chuckle, Johnny. My friends give me a performance complex. But I won't complain, I like being with talented company. Have a good one!

  • Ah, I think this is an excellent rendition Josef. The Decemberists look good on you :o) The melodica was perfect too. I'm either going to get a melodica or a small accordian. But, maybe I'll get one of those big-ass accodians and make eveybody's ears bleed, eh? haha :o) Do some more Decem's Joe. "Eli The Barrow Boy", now that is a MysticCynic song if I ever heard one :o) -Ron

  • Phew, I can breathe a little easier...now that it's been cleared by a Decemberists connoisseur. It's rough, but I've been sticking to the one-take policy. I'd recommend a melodica...you get the accordion sound, but they're easier to learn and cheaper. But I bet a full accordion gets more chicks...haha. Funny you mention Eli, I started working on it after Duncan mentioned a cover a couple months back, then I forgot. May have to retry it. Thanks again, my friend.

  • i dont know this lil ditty but you make it wonderful.

  • Thanks, Haleybop. I really like this song, glad to have acquainted you with it.

  • Just great as usual, Josef. Thanks.

  • You're too kind, Marco. Grazie come sempre. Ciao.

  • Love the melodica action you put in there, it worked very well :) Wonderful job on this song Josef.

  • Hey Stew! Thank you much, my friend. It's a great dust collector, but also doubles as an instrument. haha...cheers!

  • New song to me but very very cool tune. Great job here too man this is truly something different which is awesome. I have been wondering for a while now so I am just going to come right out and ask you. What happened to your head? Did you lose it in an accident or something. Not that it matters. You play and sing very well without the head.

  • Thank you, Derek. They're definitely a unique band. My head? Had it amputated a while back...it was just getting in the way. haha. Check your shares.

  • great job Josef ! hey, this is the first vid with melodica I've seen on the tube ! nice, I dig it.

  • Thanks, Danny. I love the melodica, it's such a goofy little instrument...got to look into how to get it tuned though.

  • I gotta get with it and check out The Decemberists- wow, mighty fine guitar playing and cool how you mixed in the melodica-great stuff Josef!

  • Many thanks, Richard. You should check them out, I think they're one of the better active bands out there. The first time I heard "Los Angeles, I'm Yours" I had to find out who the band was. I'll see if I can find a link to it. Cheers!

  • Thanks Josef- WS is a big fan too- think I saw a vid of them on Letterman?-if I recall they seemed to have a refreshing spin on folk/rock sorta?

  • You beat me to this one...great job on a great song!

  • Thank you, Michael. You should cover it! You could put this version to shame!

  • Since Ron introduced me to these guys a week ago, they are everywhere. I'm starting to get scared.

Nice job. This one almost sounds like a MC original in the first place.

  • Thanks, Justin. Yeah...they seem to have a cult following. Almost sounds like an MC song, eh? Guess I can nerd it up with the best of 'em...haha. Take 'er easy.
