  • This in no way harms the bear or their migration route. Bears pass by the town really close and even through town without anyone even knowing. its only when the bears get too close during the day or start hanging around town too often that they are scared away like that. It's in fact probably for the better because they will keep going back to that spot to find food if they find any there. the first time. this can lead to close human encounters and dogs being killed.

  • How 'wide' is their migration route?...Chances are the detour around town will not greatly retard their migration timeline...Ya think?...Seems a 'better' way of dealing with bears than some other northern towns in bear territory (killing them, for instance?)...

  • @Herebebears I reworded my description of the clips- you have very good points.  I do believe that cumulative affects of stress of getting hazed out of town, darted ect will add to climate change stress. I do wish that dogyards ect were designed in a way that would eliminate such interactions. A similar bear in dogyards was put down last year.
