Mind answering this question for me. Somehow, when I use SAM without being in a skype call, my microphone is VERY low. Even though it's set to the highest setting. But when I am in a skype call while DJ-ing on the radio, my mic for SAM works perfectly. How do I correct this?

Don't you have to set up an encoder and connect it? That's basically how you connect Sam Broadcaster to the Skype server.

@JulieHabbo Yes, if you want to stream to somewhere (Live365/Shoutcast)... that's not what this video is about. Encoders have nothing to do with setting SAM up with Skype.

I'm going to be using Skype with a friend or 2 and will be calling numbers for the calls. I will be using this set up.. but how do I actually broadcast to people? Am I going to need to set up an SQL database through my server? I have PhpMyAdmin and all that... just wondering if you could help me out here thanks!

You can also use VAC (virtual Audio Cables)and a very ingenious way of internally routing... VAC costs only $30 whereas a good interface only costs $200 and another PC would cost >$500... Talk about saving money LOL

@kl0wnie VAC is not a recommended solution when dealing with Skype in my view. It inserts a lag of about 10-15ms to allow processing to occur on SAM's end. When dealing with Skype calls to air - this isn't really a good thing.

This is actually an iffy way to setup skype with SAM. I would personally buy a larger audio interface with multiple ins and outs and route digitally instead of using the cheap sound cards build into the motherboard.

ok i did fix the no add mic linein its cos your useing vista...

on vista go to your Spacial Audio folder in Program files.

Go to the .exe and right click it properties.

Then go to Compatibility. And set the program to run in Windows XP service pack2.

It works now on my vista Ultimate.

Just to give you some advise you don't need an extra mic for skype just use the mic your using in sam an take the output of your the soundcard in the sam broadcaster computer and put into the input of the other computer running skype it just makes it a whole lot easier.

Wouldn't it be easier to have another 3.5m cable go from output ( configure that to your main mic) and put it to the input of the slave pc. That way you don't need 2 mics? :)

Yeah, when I turn on the Aux window, and start my radio show. It replays what I say back so I can hear it. Is there anyway I can eliminate the sound, so that just I, can't hear it?

Yep - Under the Voice FX panel - hit 'Config' then set under 'Voice FX destination, change it from 'Mix' to 'Encoders' and hit OK. :)
