When I got home from the vet some months ago, I was crying. When I went into my room, I noticed my rats weren't greeting me with their "chattering noice", so I looked towards the cage. -Empty. I just couldn't believe my rats weren't there anymore.

And the morning waking up and the first thing you see when you're sitting up, is an empty cage. That really made my day depressing, since I started it to cry for 30 minutes. I still cry.

I REALLY MISS MY LOVELY RAT-BROTHERS :'(

Watch the eyes of the rat on the right when he does that. His eyes bug out briefly...I first noticed that on my Lil Ana when she does it (she's also a black hooded). XoD

My girls do that when I rub behind their ears...they close their little eyes and start chattering...

@Sake906 It's called bruxing. It's basically a rat's 'purr'. It means they're happy. The same with 'boggling' when they chatter and their eyes pop in and out.

in this video a rat sneezes. my rats do this but ever 4 seconds or so. not all the time just when they are awake

Is it resp infection?

If so how do i cure it, Home remedys ( shop bought stuff counts as home remedy)

Im not paying a vet £50 for something that might not work or leads to death.

Also rats loooove spaghetti noodles and it's one of the foods that's good for them. They love to gobble spaghetti up because it's fun for them to eat it in big long strings - every time I gave pasta to my rats they would flip out and go hyper grabbing strings to eat.

Rats mostly do this when relaxed or contented but they also sometimes do it when scared or in terrible pain - as a kind of delirious action. Always be wary of every aspect of the context of your animal's actions so you can be sensitive to whatever might be ailing them.

In any case when they are happy and doing it on you it's usually a sign that they love you in their own ratty way. :3
