Congrats on your work. My son had a bagging job, but did not see that was where his future lay. Computer-related employment is a great field for many individuals with ASD, but when it is not, the place to explore: those "special interests" / "obsessions" that so many of our kids with ASD display. My son has been obsessed with vacuums since he was 3 y.o. He now has a "gainful employment" job doing what he loves at a top hotel 32-40 hrs/wk. and great co-workers, now friends, with it.
What a fabulous idea! Great initiative. Our son is in 2nd grade and I'm feeling a growing sense of urgency to do something to position him to be able to contribute to society as he gets older in a way that is substantial and really leverages his abilities. Inspiring!
