Yeah, the only reason you liberals think McCain is a class act is because he lost. If he would have won, he'd be hated just as much if not more than Bush. You liberals are so fake.
That is false. If he won or lost, I would still admire McCain. I would not have voted for him in 2000 or 2008, but I still respect him a great deal. I'm a proud liberal and a proud Canadian.
you know, I'm pro-Obama all the way, but I really think John McCain is a class act. I think he's an honorable man that just didn't come around at the right time. I would have preferred him to Bush. But then again I'd prefer almost anybody Bush :-) Mac is awesome.
lmao... i enjoyed all the stories senator john macclain told me about him and your grandfather.... i hear they enjoyed themselves... that was funny!!!!!
Both were excellent! Very very funny shit. McCain seriously surprised me the most because I guess my expectations were so low for him. Whaddayaknow the old geezer got jokes!!!
Both were really good... some real zingers in there... even about themselves... self deprecating humor is always good when done right!
With that said... whew... it was close but Barack pulled it off!
Did anyone else notice that in Smith's introduction of McCain, he lauded McCain "as he can always be counted on for his candor and straight talk as we learned not only his time in the House and Senate but also during his quest for his party's nomination in 2000." I guess Smith may have feared people would have thought he was joking if that McCain was "candid" and offered "straight talk" during his run in 2008.

This isn't a debate. It's a dinner. McCain's jokes were more crude, but had a better delivery. Obama's jokes were wittier, but he stumbled on them as he often does in his speeches. It is was a tie. 52% of the vote is an impressive victory considering this is higher than both of Bush's victories in 2000 and 2004. He also beats Reagan's 1980 electoral victory.

A $135,000/year job for an unqualified wife, Michelle (thanks to a corrupt Cook County, IL Hospital oversight board); . . 21 years (1,092 Sunday services) of listing to anti-American, hate-mongering and racist 'sermons' (thanks to the Rev. And yet, this election, its gonna say a resounding yes to common sense for common people. So buggar off you Rush Limbaugh wanna be, go take your oxycotton and be happy.
You know, it's funny. I realize conservatives don't really like to deal with "reality", but I could swear that Rasmussen is giving McCain a 4% win chance today, and has been for the last week or so. Feels a lot like America is saying no to you, not us.

A 20 year old was robbed at an ATM and maimed by her attacker because of her political views according to Pittsburgh Police.
Police spokeswoman said the robber took $60 from Ashley Todd then became angry when he seen a McCain sticker on her car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim before using a knife to scratch the letter B into her face. The attacker is described as a dark skinned black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds.
You are aware that this incident ended up being a complete hoax aren't you? The "victim" made the entire thing up and the injuries self-inflicted. Look it up. She is now being forced to seek therapy.
And you may want to continue in that office. If such be the case. Please give me a call. I have a friend here in New York who is an expert in arranging this kind of thing !!!
Cardinal Egan from New York
(he is the most powerful presence of Vatican outside Vatican- in the world, he is the one who actually runs this nation, not the president)
Translation of his quote: Dont forget that this nation is not a democratic republic but an empire of the pope. I control both sides of your senate, it is I, not the people of this nation or even you who decides whos gonna be the president. I am your Cesar! Fear me!
My blood boils when I see that red devil standing in the government of a nation which doesnt have a state religion, exercising his alleged authority whipping his fat ass with the US constitution!!!
Very good thing that the candidates show some signs of humor in the heat of the debate. At least humorwise both do a pretty good job. I esspecially like the sidepunches towards hillary clinton and how they handle mistakes they had made.
John McCAIN is ANOTHER POLITIICAN WHO WILL FUCK PPL OVER FOR HIS OWN INTERESTS....AMERICA WHAT THE FUCK ELSE IS NEW TO YOU??????? SAVE YOURSELVES!!!!! Barack Obama we pray day and night for you....
Ask Obama and McCain why they dont want do debate third party candidates!
Ask why the two party system set up a debate commission that will protect them from REALLY smart people who actually answer questions like Mike Gravel and Ralph Nader!
VOTE 3RD PARTY AND BREAK THE HOLD OF THE 2 PARTY SYSTEM!
Protest the debate commission and stop the criminal acts that they have done!
I am voting for the man who best fits my needs. You are voting for the lesser of 2 evils as are 60 million other voters. Nader and other 3rd party candidates are MUCH MORE PROGRESSIVE then Obama. Its just a fact. History has shown and will show that the 2 party system is corrupt, so in reality...you are throwing away your vote for not voting progressive.
It will take more than a new President to fix what has been ailing this country for years. Regardless of who will be in office come January 20th, they will probably spend most of their first years in office trying to clean up the mess that they inherited.
So your desire to have a true democracy (e.g. popular vote for POTUS) trumps the great minds that created the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Sounds like an elitist liberal/progressive position. The same mentality that has produced failure on world governments over the history of civilization.
America is doomed because of the profound ignorance of basic economics, history and desire to be less accountable for their own lives.
It's going to be 4 and out for Obama, I just hope we don't lose so much ground that we'll never be able make up. New government bureaucracies tend to be self - sustaining unfortunately...
As the Wall Street Journal noted, Obamas plan to give a tax cut to 95% of Americans is an illusion. More than one-third of Americans already pay no income taxes. His plan is really an income transfer where people who dont pay taxes also get a check from the IRS. In the past, this was called welfare. Obamas only genius is to call it a tax cut.
both were extremely funny & if you idiots didn't notice this was a non-partisan event. leave all the hateration out of it. it was great to see the McCain i once said i could support though i'm a democrat. it is sad what politics do to great Americans.
McCain was so funny great delivery - Obama was OK but he kept laughing at his own jokes and didn't deliver as well. I love that Obama had the audacity to say he was like Al Smith who was the pillar of Anti-Abortion and Catholic beliefs.

omg i always like mccains speeches. He calls us (the people) 'my friends' as if he knows you. AND he was freakin tortured for 8 years when he could have gone home, but he stayed and let others go. GO MCCAIN!!!
Somehow as a working man I don't find any of this funny. All I can think of is how Global Warming will wipe us all out in 50 years and I just got my 401k statement yesterday... this whole scene looks eerily similar to the deck of the Titanic: the elite decided they'll go down singing because they already secured a life boat for themselves and their families, screw the rest of us! what I want from leaders right now is to show up at food pantries and homeless shelters not at dinners like this.
Problem is the whole mindset of "noblesse oblige". The poor should be taken care of by society through government welfare not thrown at the mercy of elites, but you are absolutely right in pointing out that the problem is probably not this particular crowd of elites ;)
Not since John F. Kennedy has the spirit of Camelot been so strong in America. Senator Obama inspires the hopes and dreams of a nation and shines light in the darkness of troubles times. I sincerely hope that Americans will support Senator Obama and vote to again take their rightful place of respect and dignity in the world.
I keep watching the 2 men behind Mccain, the first 1 has a smile on his face the whole time and old 1 eat the whole time. Lol.

Nader 08!

Funny, I am having a 'F U Barbeque' on election night. Exercise your right to NOT vote and come eat some cheeseburgers.
And most people I've polled eventually agree that our popular vote means next to nothing. But I still have no guest list for my suare.
BTW, the US is the only nation to elect it's president through such methods (Electoral). Although the Pope is picked that way as well.
???

So your desire to have a true democracy (e.g. popular vote for POTUS) trumps the great minds that created the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Sounds like an elitist liberal/progressive position. The same mentality that has produced failure on world governments over the history of civilization.
America is doomed because of the profound ignorance of basic economics, history and desire to be less accountable for their own lives.

McCain was so funny great delivery - Obama was OK but he kept laughing at his own jokes and didn't deliver as well. I love that Obama had the audacity to say he was like Al Smith who was the pillar of Anti-Abortion and Catholic beliefs.

Somehow as a working man I don't find any of this funny. All I can think of is how Global Warming will wipe us all out in 50 years and I just got my 401k statement yesterday... this whole scene looks eerily similar to the deck of the Titanic: the elite decided they'll go down singing because they already secured a life boat for themselves and their families, screw the rest of us! what I want from leaders right now is to show up at food pantries and homeless shelters not at dinners like this.
madashelldude 3 years ago 2
I would agree with you, but the fact that the dinner raised $4 Million for underprivileged children kinda makes it all okay, dontcha think?
Freepeat 3 years ago 2
Problem is the whole mindset of "noblesse oblige". The poor should be taken care of by society through government welfare not thrown at the mercy of elites, but you are absolutely right in pointing out that the problem is probably not this particular crowd of elites ;)
madashelldude 3 years ago
Not since John F. Kennedy has the spirit of Camelot been so strong in America. Senator Obama inspires the hopes and dreams of a nation and shines light in the darkness of troubles times. I sincerely hope that Americans will support Senator Obama and vote to again take their rightful place of respect and dignity in the world.
