did one this evening you need a rubber glove medical/garage and a sparkler and a little tape tie the wrist section in a knot put a small hole in a finger tip fill with your chosen mix tie finger in a knot tape the sparkler to the finger bare metal end first light sparkler and run curtains were twitching for about half a mile when we walked back!!
try it in a cardboard milk carton. you can tape off the openings with masking tape and you can sit it on the bench for like a half hour and it will still go off.
how cool is that ....when i was an apprentice we spent a good bit our time making gas bombs.. and perfected the art with the stunning oxy acet ylene bomb with a bit of hydrogen... I think my ears are still ringing
why did you bother to light the torch in the first place? why didnt you just crack open the torch valves and put the mix in that way. smackin out the tip with a rag is a good way to cause a flash back so is lighting the torch with a cigarette lighter.
he did that because he wanted the right mixture, which any welder can understand, and by the didnt you see the one way valve which prevents flashbacks.
and it doesent matter hom you lit the torch up accually its better to use a flame then a spark.
take a 44 galon drum,drill 3 holes in the cap(2 for wires and one 4 a car valve stem and seal with araldite glue and solder a brocken park light bulb to inside of cap)submerse the drum in a pool then turn it upside down, adjust your oxy with too much gass(just a bit)and bump out the flame, put the torch under water so it bubbles up through the cap till its full nd put cap on, then with a long tube on the valve stem and long wires on the light now pressurise it up to 30 psi(with oxy)NOW ADD12V ;)
the pop is the flame snapping back into the nozzle and then going out. if it continues to make a screeching noise, it's burning inside the torch towards the tanks - you have flashback arrestors on the torch or regulators to stop the flame moving back. the rag doesn't catch because he hits the flame so quickly. a candle will burn you fingers if you hold them in it, but not if you quickly pinch them shut on the wick
Wearing a faceshield and some muffs, you then light the torch away from the cup still boxing in the hole. Take the cup off and light the entrance. WHOOOM!!! Just make sure there is no gas pipes or whatever underground you don't want to break. Depending on the size of the colony, it makes a great big whoomp! They never come back!
This idea works better if you use a styrofoam cup with a hole on the bottom. Then, you kinda guesstimate your gas ratios as you proceed to pump it slowly into the hole in the ground for a few minutes.
