After reading a few pages of comments here, it seems to me that the intro of this song is supposed to mean something different to everyone- just like the rest of the song it is up for interpretation. It's all about perspective and you're personal experiences. It's about relating to your life which is what makes this song so brilliant- it's personal to everyone in some way or another.
