  • First video I find in which the soprano doesen´t breathes in "Deus Pa ---- ter" Nevermind, it's expectable, I mean... It's her ¬¬ :)

  • The score has been created for Alto voice. She is ok because her voice reach that tone! Great Cecilia!

  • no Oboe = Disappointment!!!

  • Meus parabéns... coisa dos sonhos mais perfeitos!!

  • god!!!!<3 the perfect phrasing!!!

  • If she isn't an alto then what is she?

  • @midnightrose414 A Soprano Probably

  • @BrookiesBeautifulLie No she is a mezzo soprano !!! Hehe(:

  • @midnightrose414 I was close :D!

  • @midnightrose414 MEZZO

  • @aavvaa I know this now. Hehe thank you very much. (:

  • La AMO ES lo maximo♫

  • HD 720p version is in the video responses. I thought YouTube deserved a better quality version of this.

  • um i love this song, she's great, but why does she look....crazy?

  • I was overwhelmed by this one. How elegant. what a careful and complimentary duet with the violin. such a great example for anyone learning how to listen during a performance. anyone who performs this piece would benefit from a listen. thanks for the post.

  • Magnifico. Purtroppo la qualità dell'audio fa abbastanza inorridire...

  • nice cound but really bad breathing from a trained singer. I'm a singer myself and those phrases should be sung through. And the violinist is crap. They obviously think they are both God's gift.

  • @catlover3x Alright, there was a rather oddly placed breath at 2:44 or so in between the words Rex and Coelestis, but other than that - she does have to breathe you know!!! You can't sing the whole aria on one breath!

What was wrong with the violinist for goodness' sakes?! He sounded fine to me, perhaps you didn't like the sound of the violin itself, which I think is probably a copy of an older instrument with gut, rather than wire strings?

  • Wonderful. The violinist makes me laugh.

  • come bella

  • Cecilia is the MUSIC herself. Perfect! Perfect! Perfect! I gotta hear her live someday before I die.

  • They are HAPPY to play together and they GIVE something so STOP with stupid comments with "baroque"style."Specialized" people are usually frustrated. Thanks

  • il violinista sta per avere un orgasmo? questo e musica barocca, anche se melodico, ma non romantico sicuro...

comunques perfetti tutti due, ma il violinista esagera.

  • meravigliosa!!!!!!

  • Such rich tone and warmth, beauty and intelligence. Praise God for the voice he gave Cecelia, and she has worked very hard to get where she is! Love her interpretation of this song; it dances with elegance.

  • Sorry. a great interpretation, in a bad sound.

  • Such a superb pair of tits ! I could watch them heaving all day - just as well as I have the volume off - sounds like a screeching cat ! - but the tits make up for it !

  • Angel

  • @19sp70 OUI ........ ET DESCENDUE DU CIEL C'EST MERVEILLEUX

  • Get the violinist off stage Cecilia as beautiful voice but over does it let the music speak for itself

  • @Ryanburke1989 Actually, that is a matter of opinion, like my comments!

  • Her singing is absolutely heavenly.

  • @weltec2 yes!

  • Random Italian word that shows I clearly used Google translate.

  • What is that tapping i hear?

  • Cecilia, i want to marry me. You're the most beautiful woman in the world, the best singer i have heard and you're my soul, my angel, my all. I love Italia.

  • Cecilia thrills my soul!!!

  • Cecilia, you are the beauty itself: you have the voice, the music, the sense of the word and poetry, the deepness of soul, the simplicity and the humility as a person and finally a beauty face and a great presence as well as a very intelligent brain and strong will that made the classical music an even more interesting and beauty world.

When I'm listening to you I fell like a bird flying in a world of freedom. Congratulations!!!

    Luis Miguel Fontes

  • @luismiguelfontes What a load of rubbish! Of living in dream world, I am afraid. Sorry . I don't mean to offend you! :)

  • @cynic150 what do you mean to do?

  • @RameshChotanagour What I said.

    You like it...apparently.

  • @cynic150 You misunderstand. You claimed that you 'do not mean to offend' by describing something as a load of rubbish. If you do NOT mean to offend, what DO you mean to do?

  • @RameshChotanagour

I want to make people think :)

I don't like seeing performers having an orgasm on the stage. This is overdoing it. And the violin player is mediocre, in my opinion.

  • @luismiguelfontes I could not have said it any better.

    thanks mon ami

  • @luismiguelfontes shes beautiful!

  • Cecilia is amazing, but why the violin and not an oboe ? The violin is inappropriate here, let even is fine.

  • This is so amazing.. only Cecilia can do it justice! The violin player is pretty crack up though!

  • Lord this is beautiful.

  • true beauty

  • CECILIA COME TO Los Angeles PLEASE !!!!!!!

  • That is the most hammed up violin playing ever, you go for it violin bloke!

  • Amaahzing!! Singers of oratorios and masses should take note: put the score down!!

  • @allynruk this is a very deep comment that denotes a deep understanding of music.

  • so, she's your sister then?

  • absolutely gorgeous! amazing. I was mesmerized the whole time. I have been singing my whole life and this sent me to another dimension. music like this is part of me and what makes my soul at peace. :) Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful gift Cecilia!!

  • @Sefardess

Hello there Sephardic girl, I'm A myself. Has your heart been also ripped in three by the Voice, Violin and Orchestra?

  • @respect4women ? I do not know what you are asking.

  • Absolutley gorgeous!

  • drop dead wubs23

  • Italian fire does not mean prima dona violinist or mucking up the original pace and tempo of the composer....

  • I am looking for this choir singing, but i can't remember the name.. i hope you guys can help.. it goes something like this:

da DAAAA da da dada DAAA da da, da DAAA da da dada DAA da da (and maybe after that something like: esta gloria)

srry, forgot the name and lyrics.

and oh yeah.. its NOT o fortunae, or vivaldi Gloria i think.

  • I am looking for this choir singing, but i can't remember the name.. i hope you guys can help.. it goes something like this:

  • no if he was a disciplined well trained European violinist... he would'nt be showing off

He's probably an American Show off... the violin in this piece is very prominent as it is... if played the way the piece was written, it is an extremely beautiful accompaniment... I will not allow him to ruin one of my favorite Vivaldi pieces without criticism....

  • @macxtc I love the synergy that they have with each other. I just saw a documentary on Vivaldi that claims that his music should be displayed with much "Italian" fire!

  • @redbrian3655 I agree.

  • How And Why Does This Have 14dislikes she is Awesome!!!

  • the soprano is wonderful, but the violinist is a bit of a show off... he makes too many embellishments on the original work... that means he is showing off or possibly trying to show his talent is equal to the singers.. so that make him more of a "diva" than the Diva.

  • @macxtc so what if the violinist does whatever to totally enjoy himself, he's probably european and puts his whole life into his work. Let him enjoy the moment

why do you people always come out of the woodwork with jealous comments

by the beautiful way he plays , it shouldn't bother anyone if he was naked standing on his head if he offers people such talent , RIGHT !!!!!!

  • @macxtc. all I noticed is a beautifully expressed piece of music that had a lot of heart and that the violinist and soloist complimented each other...I have been singing my whole life and as a singer myself if I were to sing with such a gifted musician, that would be music to my soul.

  • how much both of them enjoy it.... toooo great <33333333

  • CECILIA...DA UN AMICA.....SEMPRE BRAVA ...<3

  • cecilia...me robaste el alma, inexplicable la belleza de la música

  • i've seen her live :)

  • @19mirjam90 me too! and both times i saw her i met her!

  • I love looking at her face while she sings--you can tell that every note is just pure joy.

  • LOL love the facial expressions of the violinist

    sigh

    this is magnificent

  • Molto bene. Grazie per una voce così meravigliosa!!!!

  • esta mujer canta precioso!!!

  • I love Cecilia Bartoli but this version is not my favorite, I wont attempt to say why as it may be misinterpreted and cause offence to the great Diva. In my opinion the Jill Gomez ITV Christmas concert version, which you will be hard pressed to find, Is the best ever version.

  • Cecilia Bartoli is really a "Domina caelestis regina inter omnes mulieres quae canunt". I love her.

    DANIEL.

  • ARRECHISIMAAAAAAAA... DEFINITIVAMENTE UNA DE LAS MEJORES...

  • possibly the greatest mezzo of all time!

  • Sublime! Her tonal variety and colour are superb and she so obviously believes in what she's singing - she looks ecstatic (or else she's a fantastic actor, but I believe it's the former!) It;s not surprising she looks at the violinist - it's like a duet between voice and violin.

  • WOW! I don't think anyone could do it much better than this!!!

  • Es una pena que el material no pueda verse continuo,se corta en medio de la reproducción y no logro ver su calidad interpretativa

  • Perhaps I'll be blessed with a voice this beautiful when I get to heaven

  • LOL, I like her glances toward the violin player.

  • She's taking breaths where they're "traditionally" taken. I'm not aware of any recording where the mezzo sings those extended lines without taking a breath. Not sure if it's even humanly possible especially given the tempo of this section in Vivaldi's GLORIA...

  • The best .

  • Maravillosa Cecilia Bártoli !!!!!!!!!!

  • brilliant performing! Great.

  • 1:58 such a beautiful entry and tone color!

  • la adoro

  • ok she sounds amazing singing this song... love her

  • good voice.... very bad breathing from the point of view of a trained singer. The phrases shouldnt be broken up they should be continuous. However, maybe she is trying to capture an atmosphere. Never the less great voice.

  • @xxdreamrxx

Funny, I believe that Bartoli is a "trained singer" as well. There's a reason she's the best in the biz. But, hey, continue to criticize from behind your computer screen. YOU'RE the expert.

  • @xxdreamrxx Wow., I'd hate to try to please you. She is actually breaking where the breathing is traditionally taken in this aria.

  • @xxdreamrxx I'm pretty sure she is a trained singer. you cannot create that kind of sound without good breathing.

  • @ralevia1 OMG you don't know her??? Of course she is a trained singer, and the best!!

  • ohhh que melodiosa voz de esta tan grandiosa soprano Celcilia Bartolli

  • @hdsmau12 She is a mezzosoprano. Ella es Mezzosoprano

  • bad, very bad sound

  • lindo

  • Often operasingers never have jewlery around their neck, why? It bugs me 'casue they have such nice dresses, but no necklace!

  • @HerrWarja Who cares?

  • Jewlery can be heavy, distracting and restrictive. I prefer not to wear anything around my neck when I sing, it just feels uncomfortable.

  • Ohmygoodness... Our Children Choir sang this song for our concert 6 years ago. Anyway, she sings really amazing...

  • SUBLIME ! VERY close to truth...VERY CLOSE !

  • This is beautiful. I'm learning this song now, and this interpretation helps so much.

  • anemunamedbob ! as I see you're real lover of classical art...that's GREAT ! But as you learning one of masterpieces of Genius...it is time to learn some terminologies about this...songs singing micheljackson, madonna, britnees & other spearses...this is a ARIA or it is better to names by title...Domine Deus

  • p.s. error on nameS ! to name by title !

  • Chère Cecilia, Merveilleux , le violon tout près , aussi, le timbre , les nuances . Mais le tempo , me semble-t-il devrait être élevé de quelques unités

    Mille et mille compliments

    = Michel

  • Love the facial expressions, which shows they're into it...

  • Gloriosa la interpretacion. Pero mal, muy mal el sonido.

  • Beautiful interpretation, this woman is very sensitive... Her Pianissimo and Piano are fantastic.

  • che mmeraviglia

  • absolutely amazing..

  • Goettlich .... (godly, divino etc.)

  • El cielo en un violin , que belleza. Genio Vivaldi y grande Bartoli.

  • and you are an Idiot!! Leck im mich Arsch!

  • Pay no attention to these old-world elitists.

  • This is absolutely beautiful!. God blessed this woman with a gorgeous voice & she is using it wonderfully. Wow. That's all I can say.

  • yes, Sir.

  • una delle pagine più belle della storia della musica occidentale.

  • Cinq minutes sublissimes.

  • Bravissimo!

  • Beautiful!

  • lower quality audio

  • M A G N I F I C A!

  • Ela é simplismente maravilhosa, o orquestra tambeml!!!!!

  • Despite the lower quality audio, this was a delicate and beautiful performance of the Domine Deus from RV589. Oh what I would have given to have heard it live. My very soul would not be enough!

  • Cecilia Bartoli is The best, as always

  • oh my goodness

her voice and the skill of the violinists

    it sounds so beautiful

    i want her voice!

  • yea that clapping is pretty annoying. Its so distracting her beautiful voice and the beauty of the strings accompanying her. Please do something about that!

  • Of course she's amazing!! I meant the clapping (in the background noise) that starts at 1:40. It's also out of beat...

  • humm i do hear something it sounds more like someones fanning wit something more so than clapping or messed up audio

  • what the hell is with the clapping!

  • because shes awesome!!!!

  • It's not clapping. It sounds like problems with the audio.

  • is incredible e maravigliosa

es genial wow es la mejor

  • @MrsDoom4YOU Now just change your nickname and I'll ask you to marry me :)

  • semplicemente divina, unica oggi per un'interpretazione cosi' perfetta. brava Cecilia per darci tanto piacere ascoltandoti. grazie

  • Cecilia is incredible.

  • Se avesse cantato "Son carina son bellina son la figlia di papà" avrebbe dato esattamente la stessa espressione. Con gli stessi respiri da sincope.

  • Wonderful.

  • Superba.

  • unbelievablely beaultiful.

  • thank you 4 uploading this, is nice to hear this kind of music, i think is one of the best works of vivialdi.

  • i use this song to help me warm up everymorning love it so much she and that violin are magical!!!

  • violin does gibe it a little something extra

  • I think that that violin is really special!!!! UNIQUE

  • This woman is an absolute Goddess.

A miracle. A complete joy. She and that violin are making love to one another, and it's wonderful! Brava, Bravo!

  • lovely .. but she warbles .. prefer Lisa Saffer anyway .. thx for this (encore ..!

  • You've got great taste! I went to music school with Lisa Saffer!

  • Bartoli is without a doubt my favorite baroque/classical opera singer. Her technique: trills, her range is superb. she was taught by the the best and her facial animation is entertaining and fascinating.

  • Now this is pure class.....it does not get any better than Cecilia

  • I ordered the Full Score from Oxford University Press. I will be conducting this movement on Sunday.

  • how did it go today? :) And does the publishing company have a website? Thanks!

  • Thanks for asking. The performance actually sounded just like the John Eliot Gardiner recording. Message me for the website as it is not letting me post it on here.

  • Thank you and I congrat you on your Easter success :)

  • really!! i have been looking for this all over is there a website i can order it from?

  • You should try in "imslp". In this site there is a lot of scores to download.
