Hello again. I've found a solution to my problem and thought I'd put it here in case someone else has the same problem. - The wood around the tuning pegs had dried out, leaving the holes a little too large. I used a hypodermic needle to inject a drop of water into each hole and let the wood swell. I did this three times and now the wood is tight enough to hold the tune. Now I can give it to my granddaughter with a good tune on it. :)
That's really helpful - thanks! Incidentally the strange thing is, when I last reported, it still sounded completely in tune with itself, but when I tried to accompany the piano, it had dropped by nearly a semitone - so it seems my original comment about it being ok was wrong!
Very nice job! I enjoyed listening to this and your Melody Harp video. I just purchased the exact same model and I'd like to ask a question. How do you get it to stay in tune? I'm a guitar player and yet I cant get it to hold a tune. Do you have any tips that you can share? I'd certainly appreciate any insight. Thanks in advance. Mike
Thanks. It's much more nicely tuned now... I used an electronic tuner in the end, and it's a case of going round and round the strings several times... I think because each time you tune a string, it puts the others out very slightly (probably the tension on the wood).
So go round lots and lots of times, making tiny adjustments each time.
Mine hasn't fallen out of tune since (a few months).
Thanks for answering so quickly! I didn't state my question clearly enough, however. The problem I'm having is that the tension on the strings is actually turning the tuning pegs. I get it up to pitch, but the peg turns as soon as I take the wrench off of it. Is there a way to tighten the pegs themselves so they don't turn so easily?
Very cool! I've written 3 books of music for these instruments! They're called World of Harmony Music, you can find them on Amazon :)
In harmony all ways,

Ah yes, I did wonder if that's what you meant. I haven't had that problem at all with my harp so I'm sorry I can't help you :(
I hope you manage to solve it!
