  • im getting a snake for the first time and i would like it to have babies

if it lays eggs do i have to buy a incubator and what else do i have to do to care for eggs

  • @Trendzzere, if you READ my message I state that the hognose is venomous, however only to lizards etc. I.E if one bites you, it is very unlikely that you will go into shock and die from it. Hence they are only venomous to toads, lizards snakes and other small rodents. NOT VENOMOUS TO HUMANS WHO HAS EVER DIED FROM A HOGNOSE BITE!!!????

  • @snakearts No, they aren't only venomous to herps and small rodents, they ARE venomous to everything. It's just that their venom isn't potent enough to really effect humans to the point of death. Just type up hognose bite and you can see how bad a reaction is. One guys hand swelled up pretty bad for 72 hours.

  • Hello I have a female hognose snake she is 3 years old and has just given birth to 3 eggs today but she has never ever been near a male?? how is this possible and this is not a joke! I am so confused please help me lol

  • @103Ritch snakes have been known to throw eggs without being bred, they will not hatch, its the same as a slug, nothing to worry about.

  • They are venomous but only to toads, lizards, snakes and other small rodents. They also eat reptile eggs in the wild, they can be conditioned to eat pre-killed mice.

  • @snakearts & mrsballinwallin....

this message goes out to both of you idiots, right... the hognose is venomous.

the bite doesnt just affect the area bitten it affects sorrounding areas too.

the numbness, soreness lasts for hours and hours if bitten.

dont give out silly information or non valid information if you dont know the facts, anybody that wants to keep hognoses should know they are venomous.

they require some awareness when handled. good luck and as for the muppets stop talking.

  • Do you anything about the giant Madagascar Hognose? I have heard that they have been classified as venomous? Don't know if that's true? I know they seldom bite and are for the most part harmless.

  • They are venomous but there venom doesn't have any affect on people. The only thing that might happen is if the hognose bites and hold on for along time it will swell up where you got bit.

  • very good description/how to on the beuti of incubating eggs.!!
