  • Why do some cooks still say that cooking it burns off the alcohol?! It does not.

  • @sowmyagnagma

A better option may be to make the banana kahlua sauce ahead of time but don't put it over the pound cake until you are ready to serve. It will be too mushy otherwise. A key thing to this dessert is the combination of hot and cold. Be sure you warm up the cake and sauce before topping with ice cream. You may want to try it out on a small batch to make sure the bananas don't oxidize

  • Kahlua??!!hm... sounds good!!))

  • I love your videos. They are so easy to prepare.

  • Hi,

I stay in texas and I have no clue where can I buy kahlua. I went to heb, but really cudnt find it. Also do they sell the pound cake in the bakery section?

  • In Texas, there are some "dry" cities that don't allow the sale of alcoholic beverages in grocery stores. Since Kahlua is a coffee liqueur, you will find it in a liquor store.

You may find freshly baked pound cake in the bakery section. If not, you can find it in the frozen dessert section.

  • @rajarova any local Liquor Store?

  • hmm whole day's worth of calories. haha still looks yummy tho

  • cant hear your voice............

  • yum! thanks for the recipe.

  • i knew i had to check this out the moment i read kahlua!!!

but what? no alcohol? takes all the fun out of the dessert =(

i love how ur both dying to try it! im gonna make it tomorrow no doubt about that!

    thanks

  • True, it does melt fast, but you gotta try it this way. The warm with the cold is an awesome experience (similar to cold ice cream on hot apple pie). But putting the ice cream first (under the cake) sounds like a good idea. Thanks!

  • I would have put in the ice cream first (on top of the sponge cake), let the kahlua/banana mixture cool/thicken slightly and then spoon them over the ice cream so it wont melt too quick.
