  • Just a quick note to let you know this was great and say thank you. Really enjoyed it. Your site's dynamite too. Really appreciate the transcriptions.

    More power to you.

  • wow!!! great lesson. very thorough, complete and easy to enderstand. plus notation in pdf , etc...

really helpful!!!!! thanks for the post

  • Thank you for breaking down the bass line of this song. This was very helpful. I look forward to see what you will bring to us.

  • The long hair rocks

  • Thanks, Jonathan, for posting this....my fav artist is Maxwell and my fav bassist is my son. I would LOVE for him to play this for me. I'm sure he could, but I sent him your video...I wish I could play the bass, but I am more the singer than the instrumental player. Thanks for posting this...I love it!

  • Thanks for the work you have put into creating this great lesson

  • Great stuff. I just wish more people would notice this video.

  • great as always arcellus.

  • Great lesson, really well put together.

    Thanks Geoff

  • Thanks for all the words of appreciation guys, it's really encouraging. I'll have another lesson for you soon and then will start taking requests.

  • @opinionated99 Look closely and you'll see that don't use my 5th string at all. This was probably originally played on a 4 anyway, I'm just using the bass I'm most comfortable with. A big piece of advice: skip the tap, learn to read real notation.

  • nice one

  • Really appreciate your videos, arcellus. Truly great work!!!

  • Fantastic lesson, man! I'm sure you already know but 99% of youtube "lessons" on absolutely everything are just awful. It's great to see someone that really strives for quality in their instruction. Doesn't hurt that you're a great player either :).

  • Awesome Lesson!!!

  • how can you play this on a 4 string?

  • @opinionated99 This effectively IS played on a four-string.

  • @SlappytheNinja Oh I'm just a year into playing the bass so I'm just learning...wish someone could tab this line

  • @opinionated99 No. Do yourself a favor and learn it by ear. Groove and feel is something you won't get from tabs. In fact, it's better if you forget about them all together and learn standard notation. You'll be a much better musician for it.

  • Stop it! Stop being better at bass than me!
