This felt like the director was throwing his feces at me the entire film. no effort was put into this film and when you're praying the leading lady will suffer a fate worse than Audrey in Little Shop's original finale, that's just the sign of a piece of cinematic garbage and an insult to the sci fi genre.

@alexleenarren the reason why I rated skyline's effects better is because they were far cleaner and utilized better than the repetitious effects used in 2012. a bunch of the action was just, land opening, explosions, etc. Skyline gets a little more credit for their originality and better use of visuals.

No point in renting it unless you have a BIG screen and hi Def. Also get very stoned before you watch it. Might have been more fun at a drive-in. Should be in the $5 Wal-mart DVD bin by next summer. What a turd of a film.

i was so pissed when i saw the retard brothers in the opening credits. i mean, WHO ARE THESE GUYS? how do they have so much clout to get absolute garbage movies like this into the theaters? this movie had no business at all being in a movie theater. it should have been direct to dvd at best. this movie isn't even good enough to be made for tv.

Its killing me how much people are crapping on this film. I saw this today, and enjoyed it. I am NOT a graphics whore at all, I enjoyed this film nonetheless. It didnt have much of a plot, but it didnt need one, it was obvious. Not everything needs to be spelled out for you in plain letters all the time. Character/History of the aliens was NOT needed, thats what gave them merciless mystique, and I found that to be intriguing. Splice got crapped on to for taking chances. Another great film.

Per whom? Splice was bashed in almost every medium I saw, Rotten tomatoes are now all positive, but two days after its release this was NOT the truth. What the flick bashed it as well. As far back as I remember, You bashed it as well. You stated the second half ruined the movie because it didnt know what it wanted to be.

It's good to have you back, Fury, and having seen this movie, I can honestly say: it's stupid, it's shallow, it's utterly ridiculous.... but I enjoyed the hell out of it. It felt very much like a 1950's B-movie set in the modern day, and I liked it for that. I even liked the ending for the sheer audaciousness of it. It's like the Strause Brothers were saying "yeah, we're gonna go there, and if you don't like it, then FUCK YOU!" Continued in next comment.

I very much look forward to eventually digging this thing out of a DVD clearance bin for the purposes of MST3K-ing. Although this movie was bad, the Visual effects for this film are just more proof that the technology is here to do an awesome GODZILLA film. So when Legendary Pictures releases the new Godzilla film in 2012 I think the King Of The Monsters will finally be given his due time on screen in all his radioactive glory.

Skyline is also just another War of the Worlds. Independence Day was the first movie to rehash War of the Worlds in many years. Both Independence Day and Skyline both suck. Yes the visual effects by today's standards from the original War of the Worlds are cheesy, but that was all they could do in the '50's.
