  • the government knew what they were doing ! another classic gone them bastards!

  • i want to see his face in there

  • i know it sucks but DAMN that olds put up a fight

  • WHAT A WASTE !

  • (cont'd)...They can not take up space and money holding onto these cars for decades just so somebody some day may want the whole thing or some obscure trim part and then only want to pay $5 for it since it is not in mint condition. I have sold many old cars, each and everytime the goofs get mad becasue a 10 year old car was actually driven and not presrved in showroom contdition so they can drive in style for a two cents on the dollar. BUY, PRESERVE STORE RESTORE THEM AT YOUR EXPENSE.

  • Get over it!!! This car would be 60 years old. If it had a service life of 20 years, then It has been sitting in a scrap yard for a good 40 years. Plenty of opportunity for collectors to have grabbed it. If you want to save cars like this, then go look for them, they will not be handed to you. The car was probably well stripped of useable parts years ago. Many other cars lived because of that. These guys are in the scrap BUSINESS....this means they have to SELL the scrap metal eventually.

  • People should make a law that any car over 5 years of age cant be crushed

  • Gimme my hammer and a blow torch! We can still save it! --Let it go man, she's gone-- NO! Godammit! I can save her!!-- (Dragged kicking and screaming from the yard) In all seriousness, the content of this video is completely horrible and I can't believe that anyone worth the grease under their finger nails would hit "start" on that crusher. Even if this was under the cash for clunkers thing. Fk the law! Start an underground railroad for American made classic steel!! Complete fkn shame.

  • Idiots! What a rotten shame crushing a car that survived that long! It didn't deserve to die like that!

  • YOU ARE GOING TO BURN IN HELL!!!!!!

  • I has never hit the dislike button until now!!

would like to put u guys under there and stick u with something while

u are getting crushed in there!!!

  • thats one of my favorite cars, but I don´t have one because old oldsmobiles are FUCKIN IMPOSSIBLE to find them here in sweden. We have alot of old american cars in my country but very few 1950-55 oldsmobiles, maybe it´s because STUPID americans don´t see what they have and are just crushing ´em for kicks.

  • @thehertza Old car restoration is a billion dollar a year business in the United States. Cars like this are in fact being restored and preserved. What you don't know is how long was this car offered for sale, how many people did NOT want it, etc. There are plenty of these around watch the Barrett Jackson auctions.

  • i cant watch

  • I cant believe this... a car not only worth for parts, even as good restoration project!! incredible!

  • RECYCLE CIVICS AND TIN CANS... NOT CLASSICS!

  • They need to take the assholes doing this and cuff them into the next car being crushed, REALLY, I'm serious!

  • R.I.P.

  • I agree with JLSTHERAT. Why is it the idiots who rules this planet ???????????

  • Curse the government and obama....

very sad end for a classic

  • this makes me sad

  • poor car

  • nuke that scrap yard, that i'll teach them!

  • The trim and other rare parts should have been saved, Hello someone restoring an old car might pay big bucks for a part that is no longer made!

  • your seriously cryinng over a damm oldsmobile, are you serious? you hotrods will never know what a true car is.

  • @TheAfghan72 are you serious?!

  • You have to remember parts are only worth money to someone who needs them. Would I like to have saved this car? Hell yes. Would I pay $3000 to save it, and then another $1 to restore it? No. Would I strip it down and wait years for someone to come along and buy a window or a grille for $20? Nope.

That bumper might be worth $3 or $300 but only to the certain number of people on the planet who have a 52 Olds without a bumper and the inclination to travel to wherever this car is, or was.

  • @CycolacFan Why do you have to wait for YEARS for the parts to sell when you can as well put em up for grabs on ebay these days?! The times have changed...d-uh!

How much profit do these shitters make recylcling those parts anyways!

  • @firedup643

you tried selling on eBay recently? eBay immediately takes the side of the buyer in any dispute? Can be more trouble than its worth.

Plus how many guys who own these wrecking yards are all that computer literate? Calculate how long it takes to remove, photograph, itemise and store these parts that may or may not sell for a month or more.

factor in that time to the value of the part.

If it's so easy go buy a bunch of old cars and make your fortune.

  • @CycolacFan I would if they'd been on my shores! :)

And I'm surprised if most people in 'developed' countries arent computer literate today!

  • @firedup643 I know exactly what you mean. It's damn shame to see any old car crushed. If the government in any country, or the automobile indistries genuinely cared about saving the planet they'd stop making new cars and help us maintain the existing ones. Maybe develop fuel efficent modern engines to put into the older cars.

For the record my newest car is 1987, my oldest 1972, assuming the life of a car is ten years then, in theory, my cars have stopped some six new cars being built. Sort of!

  • @CycolacFan It's a crying shame that the yanks are crushing them all and the eastern Canadians older vehicles are rotting out from all the salt on their roads. All the old cars in north America are either in mexico or western Canada(Alberta and saskatchewan mostly). Actually, there's an old 1950's GMC truck in near mint original condition being sold just 4 kms away.

  • Did you remove the mercury switches?

  • ghost car from gta sa O.O

  • idiots born everyday

  • that is fucking crazy. ill buy it for more than youll get for and let it rust in my front yard or something. that is a piece of history

  • @COSANOSTRA2OO8 Go buy 'em man, they're out there if you look!

  • thats saddddd

  • Recently saw a fender for this type of car, $699.00, trunk lid $375.00, maybe the car was worth more crushed for scrap metal

  • there are and there always will be stupid people crushing old cars . They have no idea how much money the parts are worth. Stupid stupid stupid.

  • Squish!

  • been messin with old cars all my life,i remember when no one wanted the mopars, and bubble tops were every where, now china has the 'condensed classics'''i have a model a coupe, a bandit, a military cj5, and a 68 camaro,i guess ill just put them in a biulding and drink while i look at them, think about it...IF THE CRUSHER CANT STOPEM,90%ETHENOL WILL.........i also own a 1955 gmc city bus,its awesome and its mine...save the old cars please!

  • These stupid jackasses!! This car was well worth restoring.... At least parting it out. What´s wrong with people?!

  • stupid someone would of bought the parts !!

  • wtf

  • why for you kill a beautiful car like that?

  • should have saved the glass ....

  • I hate to tell you that it was not the resistance that held the crusher up the plate kept moving even before the forklift pushed it in, though it has such solid metal it diverted the forks twice, still what kind of sick person does this kind of thing, there is no respect for old cars or old buildings anymore, and the recession only makes the demo people think they have licence to tear up what ever they want since " no one can afford to fix up stuff" bull number 2 and they know it.

  • I feel a lot of love in here.. Lots of love.

  • thats just wrong

  • just a stupid waste, ... may you burn in hell ~

  • thats a shame to crush that....the body looks solid on it yet

  • its a 1953 not a 52 to good to crush

  • Comment removed

  • Should crush the crusher operator and the forklift an driver then the cameraman for watching .. ya know what ya coulda sold if not the whole car but the parts on ebay for ......BUT METAL FOR MORE CAMRYS IS MORE IMPORTANT HERE IN AMERICA

  • Stupid idiots..crash your mother

  • quit crying

its just an old piece of shit

  • @benchod94 WTF are you saying!!!!??? no old cars are pieces of shit!!

  • @benchod94 yeah, about that. I've seen people spend hundreds of thousands of dollars restoring these, so I'd definitely say people much more successful and probably much smarter than you disagree.

  • WHAT!? WHY!?

  • one of my favorit cars destoryed :( :(

  • I can't believe it! Disgusting! Just a disgrace

  • I can't believe it! Disgusting! Juat a discrace

  • Makes me sick. Everytime I see it a piece of me dies

  • Interesting it has "save" written on the rear door.

  • @T4799 I found that interesting too! Maybe the fork lift driver couldn't read

  • scrap your mother first son of a bitch !

  • scrap your mother firsat son of a bitch !

  • sad...

  • Sadly scrap iron prices have gone up that people got greedy and decided it would be better to smash as opposed to selling it for parts.

  • @meangreen69Nova Scrap iron is worth maybe $20-40 a ton, just one of those trim pieces from the Olds is worth more then that.

  • That was very idiotic, the body is perfect, and it has great parts on it.

  • I'm gonna cry. All my fucking life wanted to have one of those and I can't believe what I saw.

  • idioci

  • The young are in charge of this country now, just like Obama and his cash for clunkers are dismantling america one asset at a time here. cried my fucking head off on this one though. try to find the body panels for that one now,and glass also, Fucking retards at work here.

  • MONSTERS!!!

  • OMFG...???????

  • Stupid idiots!!

To crush a 1952 Olds in good shape... UNBELIEVABLE!

  • what kind of dipshit crushes a car like that? there were so many good parts left.

  • That car was worth $3000+ in parts! Idiots!

  • @1971SuperLead thats not true, its crumbling to dust, but still a shame to flatten it, just imagine it painted up and used as an advertisment car!!

  • @2009jimmy2009 Are you serious? Have you parted out an old car lately? The frikken hood was worth $300. Fenders about $300 each as well. The chrome and bumbers are worth over $1000. Then there's all the little items and seats, steering wheel, engine, trans, dash parts, interior trim, tail lights, head lights, suspension parts, window trim, trunk lid, radiator support, inner fenders, mirrors, wipers, glass, back window!, grill, horns, air cleaner, wiper motor, hood hinges, floor boards, etc

  • @1971SuperLead all these metal parts you are talking about, for example, the floor pans, are most likley dissolved into nothing by now any way, and as for the glass, trim bits etc.. well i agree with you there. put it this way if it was mine, theres no way on gods earth i would ever junk it like this, what a waste!!!

  • what were the other cars crushed below it?

  • god dam ass holes your crushing our history im dead inside from seeing this why crush the old cars if this is no room crush the cars that can be brought back or are to mangled to save. old cars may be gone but when they are crush melted they are use dfor cans new cars motor parts etc they are gone from being the old car forver but not new things

  • You can thank the retarded "cash for clunkers" mentality for this madness. I'd gladly restore a '52 Olds instead of driving the crap that's produced today.

  • That is just wrong

  • It is a shame, but what you going to do about it

  • @picklesrule69

Restore them or going in a wood, what a marvelous wreck in nature, insn't it ?

  • @duncan5mcleod Well obviously you can't restore it now, Its flat as an pancake..

  • NOOO!!!! At least it held up well against the crusher. Stopped the crusher dead for the first few seconds.

  • Throw all new cars in the crushers, that's where they belong, pure ugly garbage that all looks the same, that's why I love seeing car accidents these days, another new car is written off and thrown in the garbage where it belongs.

  • what a waste the guy who crushed it should be thrown in the crusher

  • What kind of a moron crushes something like that? If he needed some space, crush some overgrown beercans like Hyundais and trashed ricers

  • sad

  • What a shame... people don't seem to understand that once they're gone, they're gone for good.

  • senseless waste of a classic car

  • WTF IS WRONG WITH PPL!? UGH

  • WHAT ARE YOU DOING?????

  • Im 16 and I've been looking hi and low for an affordable Classic Car as I hate ricers. This pisses me off and makes my job more difficult. Could they find a Honda or some other ugly butt weak car to destroy?Notice how that car was built so well that the crusher wouldn't go down until he punched the car with the lift?

  • What part of the world do you live in, maybe I can help you out?

  • I live in the rust belt.

  • I feel the same way It was just a 4dr car Im glad.

  • At least it was only a 4 door

  • yes good glass, panels galore. this is sickening.

  • there were a lot of parts and chrome that looked usable. this don't make sense at all!!

  • what a waste!

  • WHY???

  • After 60 years of surviving this is how this car ends up, crushed, is very sad indeed. It didn't even look rusty!

  • insane!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this make me cry

  • What a waste, that thing could have been restored by someone. I've seen cars way worse than that restored and become show cars. I'm sure someone would have paid more for that than what the scrap metal goes for!

  • It even says "Save" on the fender. Why why why do this to a relatively complete looking car???

  • I hate to say and don't condone it but its California and Arizona and they are a long way away from the rust belt. I sell vintage car parts and I cut stuff like that up all day long for small stuff because many northern and east coast people won't pay shipping for good stuff. Unfortunatly companies out here only care about weight so its a rush for me to save stuff like that before the big boys send it to china in a small box.

  • Most of the issue isn't shipping (and I don't know you personally at all, so I can't say if it applies to you), it's the retarded prices most of these junkyards ask for said parts. I understand you have to make money, I understand you paid money for said car, I understand that it takes time and effort. But when a junkyard tells me they want $200 for a clean fender off a car they paid $200 for, I'm probably not gonna buy it.

  • This is fucking bull shit a hate people that do that to old cars

  • What a lazy ass junkyard

  • its like watching a close friend lose their life.

  • WTF!

Why was it crushed and why didn't someone buy it and saveit?

Up here in Canada that would have been a good car to resiore as most cars are pretty well rotted out.

    A Crime!

  • You have got to be %*$# kidding me. I am looking for 52-53 Oldsmobile parts, and especially from a 98 sedan, which that car was.

    What a crime.

  • This is why I don't like car crashes, people destrying cars, demolition derbys, wrecking yards... destroying nice cars is never cool, unless it's a POS lame modern japanese or 3 cyl. car. Makes me wonder why we are destroying nice old cars like this and the new cars we build are ugly, crap Toyota Aygo's

  • It does hurt watching!
