I continue to be amazed by your writing ability, both lyrically and musically. I love the pauses and the melody...and the interactive dialog between the two characters in the song...especially the lyric: "ouch"!!! :)
Standing ovation for those lyrics and that delivery!! I've replayed and reread this countless times. Better stop parking your car in so many dimly lit alleyways though ... I'm starting to worry about you ;-)
One think I really like about this song is your delivery is like a rap which undercuts the bravado. If Luka Bloom (Christy Moore's brother) weren't an accomplished songwriter himself I'd suggest you send it to him for consideration. He made an acoustic folk-rap album a couple of decades ago. Pete
Hi Josef, oh what a song. I always need a bit time to understand the lyrics, but they are great! You are a true poet and of course it was right to post this! And I am not offended by the wonderful waterfall. I wish I could have seen one this summer :-)
Terrific song!!! very original! I dont quite know how to pidgeon hole this one! Maybe a cross between rap and spoken word! OUTSTANDING!!! Great guitar works too!
Hey there Josef... haha,,,, you never cease to astound me with your lytrics :o) this is one of the best things you ever written. It is like a tiny novel, Jack Kerowac would have been proud of this one. Oh, the line about "emotional fees",,, an yes... I resemble that remark, hehe. Great to see you back up Joe. They are a friend's letters from the middle of darkest Africa :o) -Ron
I'm waiting for this vid to load, which sucks. But I'm reading the lyrics in the meantime which is great fun !! so thanks for that, wish women would feel obligated to make men ashamed of living in oversized Mcmansion's instead of for living in their car. funny, they usually say "living IN his house" but "living OUT of his car"
Falling in love with your music man. Good shit. Lyrics are fabulous.

Nice edgy guitar, different than you usual melodic picking. Love the "approximate proximity" and the way you pause after "Hey..." on the beer line.

haha...I've heard it both ways. But I think living OUT of one's car implies some sort of industriousness.
