I work with gay youth, as young as 12, who have tried to take their life. Most are Christians and all have felt the rejection of their church, youth group, school [teachers always never seem to be there when one is being bullied or beaten. One teacher told one of my kids, 6th grade, before his entire class, "You must be gay like your sister". The teacher said this because the boy was wearing an earring.

These youth don't choose to be gay and then try to kill themself because they are.

@kolata123 I am 44 now and I still remember the look on my parents face when I "FINALY" decided to live my life for me. and their responce was more along the lines of . SO YOU FINALLY ADMIT IT. we knew for years. they dont agree with who I am but they accept who I am. Now all I have to do is find a man who is willing to spend his life with me and be just as open as I am now.

Took Accutane in my early thirties to finally clear it up but the psychological damage was done. Life sucks when shit happens to you that you have no control over. What didn't suck was being gay!
