I remember when I would see this on Sesame Street, I was floored at how these women could sing in such low voices. They also sang low in many of their hit songs (most noticeably, "Automatic")
OH MY GOD!!!! I remember this! this song used to put me to sleep! I actually remember watching this on Sesame Street and it would knock me the h(ll out!
Is this an actual Pointer Sisters song that appeared on any of their LP record albums at the time? I came across this song by freak accident and I really like it. If it's not by The Pointer Sisters, do you or anybody know who the original artist is? I actually came across this by doing a different Pointer Sisters search & all I can say is WOW!
I have liked these ladies for ages. My mom had several of their albums when I was a kid, and their first one (the cover art features the sisters wearing cool 1940s dresses) was one that was in frequent play.
Somehow I never saw this Sesame segment. I grew up with classic Sesame...I was born in '77, and they still played older clips in regular rotation when I was a kid.
I can't believe I've finally found this! I saw this on Sesame Street when my first child was an infant and I liked it so much that I scribled the words down and remembered the tune as best I could. I sang this to my children all the time.
And as it turns out, I didn't do a bad job reconstructing it.
Thanks for sharing. I look at this video and literally, it seems like yesterday, not thirty something years ago. I remember all of the Pointer Sisters clips, they were some of my favorites.
i love this song...
