  • @DJColdhard Hes right!!! Q-Tip release bonita remix in 01/01/ 1992 then Big Poppa came out in 1994 with his dubut album Ready 2 Die....

  • the sample is the isley brothers between the sheet but the beat is little feat fool yourself it the same beat in the orginal version

  • This song to me is a rare case were the remix version is better than the original

  • @DJColdhard

  • shit aint fucking bad

  • The original sample is from Biggie - Big Poppa..

But this remixed beat is from Gwen Stefani - Luxury

    Let people know!

  • @spantgar haha whaddup young buck, you're wrong, as you've already been corrected. cute though

  • @jonmmadison

Yeh i didnt know about that hehe

  • To bad they don't have this version on iTunes.

  • This is the very best version of this cut!! Thank you thank you, this is nowhere else!! This version was in poetic justice at the beginning at the drive in movie..classic!!

  • id love to hear a mash up of this and pig poppa, anyone know if one exists?

  • LIKE THIS IF POETIC JUSTICE BROUGHT YOU HERE

  • @YoungDeezyDaDon yea man in the beginning i couldn't find this version i just knew they sampled the isley brothers and could swear it's q tip singing so these were the only clues i had about the song n it wasn't easy findin it cuz it wouldn't appear on search but im glad i finally found it peace

  • did the notorious b.i.g. stole that beat????

  • @Replaya35 Yep! But I would say "borrowed" because TCQ " borrowed" it from the isley brothers.

  • @Replaya35

Yeah, B.I.G used this sample too. The original is Isley Brothers, Between The Sheets. That's a classic song and ATCQ and B.I.G made towo classic songs sampling it.

  • CLASSIC SLAPP!!

  • @pqstr Well there`s one song that i like a lot (even thogh it`s Janet`s,and the worst part is when she`s singing-which she does just a little) and video is a masterpiece. It`s called "Gone `til it`s gone"- and i belive Q tip produce it- great music- u should check it out

  • @pqstr i think she means got til its gone but thats so irrelevant to this video lol..

  • @z4k5ta oh ok thats a great song but janet jackson has made so much more than that anyway

  • did yall read that book HOW TO RAP where they interviewed Q-Tip and Phife and they explained how they learned to rap, and also explained loads of different elements of MCing... its really good, check that book out if you dont got it already

  • @clarencejones07 do you have to be a rap guy to like it?

  • @clarencejones07 ive got that book the science and art of a hip hop mc breal from cypress hill is in it as well great read!

  • Yay-ah! This brings back so many memories, of me rollin to this at the rink! Im glad I still have mine on vinyl! :)

  • Tribe did this before B.I.G.'s big poppa. This was on "Poetic Justice" sdtk. Big heard Tip do it. And like it....

  • @qdtsmooth nawww biggie did do it before q tip but personlly i like q tip's version better. poetic justice was made after both songs were out. they put q tips in it because he was in the movie in the beggining

  • @TheCarmeloFan15Nug ....Wrong. This was a b-side single from "Tribe's" first album of "Bonita Applebum". This song is older than "Big Poppa".

  • @ThaNotoriousBEN guys who cares? they all sampled it from the isley brothers lmao! who cares who sampled it first? damn

  • does anybody know if this remix pre-dates big poppa? this album was cut in 92, So I think they sampled this beat before biggie did, but I could be wrong

  • First time I heard this was when I saw them do this version on Showtime at the Apollo.

  • @grish76 ME 2

Don't miss the fact that this was the FIRST

HIP-HOP SEQUEL (that was a hit) that

set the standard for redefining what we call

"remixes", when they were never, in fact,

remixes at all. What you're listening to right

now was PART 2 of "Bonita Applebum"

  • @WOMDBOOM

La Di da Di was A cappella (unless you count beat boxing as an instrument). "It Takes Two" samples "Think" by Lyn Collins. "Top Billin" samples "Impeach the President" by the Honeydrippers. WTH are you talking about??

Mr Grimez The Anti Hero "Legend Of The Underdog EP" 19 Aug 2009

  • wow... same sample as Big Poppa.

Double classic. Between the Sheets is the ish.

  • Man, I've been looking for this for years!! Ive asked everyone and no one remembered the "hootie mix" except me! Thanks for posting

  • I do...

  • Now this is what rap is about the lyrics, the beats, the flow, not like today rap music it all sounds the same BORING!

  • this defines my generation

    mean beats

    mean rap's

  • i love it

  • This Is The Best Sonq Ever

  • They don't make em like this anymore! What a fucking shame!

  • @BreuckelensFinest Yeah, Now we gotta listen to that young money bullshit. Music dont make sense anymore..

  • @DCkid4life1 Yo I don't even know what or who is a "Young Money." His or her name sounds wack from the getty up. I haven't listen to radio since about 2003, what's on there hurts my ears. Must be a sign of getting old hahaha but for real, The music today is not true Hip Hop Music. That's different music, I can't call it.

  • @BreuckelensFinest dont say that hip-hop sucks becaue you think it does.

  • @jhammaster So you're the only one with an opinion that means something now!? Based on what you said, Hip Hop doesn't suck and it's in its best form because you think so?

To me, hip hop and many other genre of music has turned from Authentic Restaurants into McDonalds, Authentic NYC Pizza into Domino's Pizza. Pack it up with cheap contents & sell it as fast as u can to make the most amounts of money as possible. No soul.

Again, they don't make em like this anymore! What a fucking shame!

  • @BreuckelensFinest yes actually there are good people making good music not just the underground.

  • @jhammaster That's your opinion & I can't knock u for it. My opinion stands, McDonalds is not real food, it's Grade F food, literally. The music today, to me, in my opinion is grade F Quality. Just like foods, the way buildings & cars are made today, very cheaply compared to back in the day. As far as Quality It just doesn't compare. Look I am friends with many older Hip Hip artist, particularly DJs, a famous one in particular for HOT97 &he is sickened by the lack of Quality in Music today!

  • @BreuckelensFinest same with you and my opinion is same but opposite to what you think of music yeah there are bad ways for entertainment but not all and thats great you know alot of people.

  • unreleased tupac track "time to get my drink on" also predates big poppa

  • u grew up to real music not no lil wayne, soulja boi shit.

  • This is one of my favorite songs by this group... i remmeber bumpin this song in my ape deck back in the days... THEY JUST DONT MAKE RAP SONGS LIKE THIS ANYMORE AT ALL.... lil wayne has a song out now called i wish i could fuck every girl in the world...WTF? i cant let my son listen to that CRAP!!! but i woul let my son play this all day long for sure... YALL FEELING ME???

  • thats a real valuable point man! definately feel you on that one

  • I hear you...I Love Tribe 4 Ever...Unfortunatly Lil' Wayne is addicted to Promethezyne cough syrup...makes you say crazy things you probably don"t mean, but kids don"t know that....

  • Man, i love all there songs man real hip hop i kno im just 16 but all this shit nowadays is b.s wtf do lil wayne be tlkn about.????

  • nothin really..nowadays hip hop is replaced with commercial bubble-gum rap...like lil wayne, soulja boy, etc....kinda like the blind leading the blind. ppl like wayne because others do and apparently its "cool". my friends go on me cuz i listen to hip hop but u know im glad to know its ppl my age that still listen to what i call lyrical truth..keep it up homie..

  • u r a king for providing this!

  • dis song is way betta than da albums of 2day. smh but dis shit wud make a fly ass ringtone! dis n da original joint!
