I can understand if they are offended by Christmas, but to not even honour our national anthem is ridiculous. I think the gov't should be more strict on the immigration papers, or perhaps make every immigrant learn about our history, some French, and definitely, our National Anthem.

@SadisticTart It could be argued that the school was right to sanction her because she mentioned her school in her Facebook status, particularly through the words she used to describe some students. I agree with your other points entirely - the school was likely embarrassed by her and "The War on Christmas" is largely used by some people such as Michael Coren to prevent the separation of church & state and recognition that not all Canadians are Christian.

Nobody is removing or even questioning your right to say whatever you want to say...as long as you give others that same basic right. Some stores, government offices, etc may have vanilla'd up the phrase a bit, stating Happy Holidays instead, but that's simply good business - they're looking to make everyone happy so they spend money. Nobody is forcing you to say it...and you know, I bet if any of you closet racists asked a minority their opinion, none of them would care what you say either.

I agree with everything that this young girl did. As far as Im concerned she did nothing wrong at all. This is Canada that we live in not one of these foreign countries. If the people who immigrate to a country refuse to embrace the culture, or at least accept that the original citizens of that country have the right to keep their own culture, then they don't have to stay.
