The Doctor has lost himself, in my opinion this incarnation is just a representation of insanity, he has gone from hate filled (9) to depressed (10) to insane, all these things the 11th doctor says are just superficial garbage, The previous doctors were bitter and realistic to the bone, spiteful arrogant and manipulative, yet they made the choices that were hard, that no man should have to make but now the Doctor is lost and uses humans to get by, a lonely creature to easily swayed by feelings
