  • Very nice

  • Tanganyika tank is just as worst as keeping a marine tank all these chemical attrabutes to worry about

  • i don't know what your feeding him but he is TOO DAM BIG!!

  • I love it. What size is the tank

  • stunning tank thanx for sharing it with us . i have a realy large algi eater like yours . i was told they dont get very big thow luckily enough i dont mind lol .

  • stunning tank thanx for sharing it with us .

  • monster chinesee algea eater at 1:53 MINT fish

  • Super :) Ludzie dają minusy bo im to nie pasuje do ich rasistowskiej wizji - że mięsożerne trzeba trzymać osobno niż roślinożerne i inne takie przesądy :)

  • My dream is to own a tank like this.

  • THOSE ARE THE BIGGEST FRONTOSAS EVER

  • This is a nice tank but I am often disappointed with zoo and aquarium places tanks. They lack creativity. I know they are true to the native lakes blah blah blah but they're not in a lake. I actually think the You Tube hobbyists tank videos I have in my favorites look nicer! Check out my tank!

  • they need to feed these fish more...

  • @MrVark9

    Why do you think that?

  • @n03lzz well most look really healthy but some of the frontosa stomachs are going inward

  • @MrVark9 Ya what are you tlaking about those fish are all fat and healthy

  • I wished I had a tank this big inside my house. That's if I ever buy a mansion. Lol!

  • @TheHmo0b

I think that's the dream of most fishkeepers.^^

  • I recognise Syndontis Catfishes in there and Tropheus Bemba. A lot of Petros at the top and a few Compreceps. Wheres this tank located? Nice.

  • @jkdjedi

Ok, thank you very much. I'm going to add that to the info-box. This tank is located at the Zoo Cologne, Germany.

  • Have you found out what those black fish (00:30 - 00:35) at the top of the tank are? They look like some sort of tang to me but that's a salt water fish family.

  • @HominoidCharles Those are Tropheus

  • @GroinStabbingPro

Right, but do you also know the exact species?

  • @n03lzz Well, Ad Konings describes 8 species within the Tropheus genus, however there exist nearly a hundred distinct geographic localities where different patterns and colorations have developped in the wild untouched by human interference. I may have noticed more than one variants in the video, but for sure there was Bemba "Orange var."

  • @GroinStabbingPro

I've always a hard time to classify every single species of all tanks after a zoo trip. I made notes during the visit, but it's still nearly impossible. If you can classify fish in one of my videos, which i didn't put into the info box, feel free to post your suggestion.

  • @HominoidCharles

These are (like GroinStabbingPro said) Tropheus. I don't know the exact species yet.

  • This Video shows the big tank @ Zoo Köln, its not a private tank and even no video directly from lake tanganyika ;)

  • @woolf187

    Absolut richtig.^^

  • I always ask myself the question: "how do you keep a huge tank like this clean??"

Does the 'nature' do that job by itself?

  • @berkanpicanto

The bigger the tank and the filter, the less work for cleaning it. You can assume that such a big ecosysteme can do a big amount of the job by itself.

  • @n03lzz yeah I have 6 fishtanks at my home and the only thing I have to ever "clean" is the glass and filter pads. the only reason there could be anything growing in a tank so fast and in much bulk to be unsightly is from over feeding.

  • is this tank in your house ?????

  • @Matticals

No, it's at a zoo near my hometown.

  • Amazing ! what is the size of the tank ?

  • @courcarre:

The front glass panel is 1,4 meter (4 feet) high and 7 meter (23 feet) long. It's a 5300 us gallon (20.000 liter) tank.

  • some chiliden from the lake called emperors or something like that, are freaking cool^^

ive watched a video where a turtle, a BIG turtle tried to eat their eggs...

    damn they've got power!

  • This video is part of an awesome documentation about Lake Tanganyika. I've linked in my favorites to Part2 of 4.

  • Those Frontosa are HUGE!!!!

  • Oh, YES!!!

  • Hiii...Nils...

  • Yeah datz a big boy ! How long wud u say he iz.

  • The big one at 2:23 is about one feet long.

  • Thanx 4 da info. Datz a hell of a tank tho.

    I lyke da rock formationz

  • Yeah, it's freakin awesome to stand in front of it. =D

  • I like my 7 bar Frontosa better than the 6 bar's.

  • 7 bar frontosa are Cyphotilapia frontosa "Kigoma", right? Why do you like them more? Just because of this one stripe?

  • I know the scientific name of my 7 bar, thanks. But you also know that not all species of frontosa look the same when adults right? In my opinion 7 bar Fronts look nicer at adulthood. And having 6 bars can be confusing because there are more species with 6 bars, And actually there are no 6 bars with "Frontosa" in their scientific name. Most are called Cyphotilapia gibberosa. In most cases you wind up with Cyphotilapia sp. "North" (Burundi). Which in my opinion are ugly when adults.

  • I'm no expert in frontosa, but the things you wrote sounds interessting. Thanks.

  • we have those 7 striped big fishes at

    home in our tank

  • Nice. I'd love to see a video of your tank.

  • hehe that yellow calvus? at 0:48 did some cool commando move when it got jumped by that tropheus

  • Yes, it's a very colourful calvus.

  • Where is this at? this tank is awesome

  • It's in Cologne, Germany.

  • I LUVE Frontosas. They are a Beauty!

  • Yes, they are very cool.

  • whats the fish at 0:55

  • That's a very cool fish. It's called Redeye labeo (Labeo cylindricus). There is an other video of it on youtube called "Hippo Spa" or /watch?v=5XfdTvL-0oA

  • its in my favourites

  • This is not just a Zoo its in Köln.

  • That makes less sense.^^

  • Nicest Tanganyikan tank ever. Thanks for sharing.

  • Yes, it really is!

  • Great tanganyika tank. Those Cyphotilapia Gibberosa are awesome. It's nice to see them swim in a huge tank like this. I got 8 Cyphotilapia Gibberosa Moba and I would love to have them in a gigantic tank like that!!! Could you tell us where this is? I

  • Hi, thank you for your comment.

Those are the biggest Cyphotilapia i've ever seen.

    It's at Cologne, Germany.

  • must be difficult to maintain

  • Yeah, right. But they got huge filtersystems in the background.

  • 1:25 full view, huge algea eater?

  • First, i thought that, too.

But they are Redeye labeo (Labeo cylindricus). There is another funny video of them on youtube called: "Hippo Spa" of NationalGeographic.

  • sweet!!! was that a giant algea eater??? siamese algea eater? man i wanna take dive in your tank...5300 gal, wow my dream is a 300 gal show tank for tangs. I could just sit in front of your tank all day, I envy it!

  • Unfortunaly it's not my tank. :(

  • love it

  • Me, too!

  • Ah man...I just creamed my pants. Hold on...

  • lol...^.^

  • This video, everytime I see it is AMAZING!

  • Thank you for watching my video more than once!!! =D

  • If this is a Tanganyika tank where are the calvus and compressiceps?

  • Theyre all over the place is there. Watch closer.

  • You can see some e.g. at 0:51 and 2:11 .

  • Wow ! amazing, what is the dimension of this fish tank ?

  • Hi, i cannot tell you that, but it's fukin huge.

For scale: The front glass panel is 1,4 meter (3.93 feet) high.

  • dmn graet is it water they are in? how can they braeth /ironic on

/i off

  • I would love a tank like this in my house.

  • Yeah!^^

  • cool aber unseres ist trotzdem besser xD

  • Dann her mit einem Video.^^

  • Many Fishes .. & now ?

  • Now you've watched a video of many fish.

  • Tanganyika themed tanks pretty cool, you seems to be very attached to fish. You have the most amazing variety of fish. I love it.

  • nice :)

  • Thank you, too.

  • nice

  • thx

  • I love this tank !!

the rocks are realy realy nice :P

  • Me too. The setup of this zoo tank is great.

  • gezz what a nice setup 5/5 stars

  • Thank you!^^

  • awesome the syno are awesome

  • Yes, there are many synodontis on duty.^^

  • Dank dir. Ich tu mein Bestes.^^

  • WTF?

    What the Fuck.

    Fish -.-*

  • Yes, those underwater birds without feathers and bills, but with scales and gills are... FISH! ;)

  • WTF????

  • Those frontosas are brutes!!! They look so much prettier when they're little, but I think they're impressive like this.

That's a great selection of African cichlids! My favorites have to be the Mooriis and compressiceps, they're so pretty/ unusual.

  • It's extremely rarely to see fully grown Frontosas. The "dwarf or false frontosa" (Neolamprologus tretocephalus) have a equal look but they don't grow up to those monsters.

  • The pet shop where I live rarely sells the dwarfs. I do like the blues of the tretocephalus, though. I have the urge to build a massive tank now.

  • Once i got the money i'll get a 3000 liter (800 us gallon) tank. I promise that.^^

  • Nice!

They are really giant, and those horns, only crazy!

    really nice vid!

  • I never saw bigger Frontosa like this before. Thank you!

  • The koln zoo ist so nice. I live near cologne here in germany

  • Yes, it's awesome.

  • To all citizen: I'm presenting living fishsticks, that's how they look like ;)

  • i have a tanganyika, too ^^

  • Tanganyika themed tanks are very cool, i would love to see a video of it.

  • damm that a big tank.

    pertty cool and nice

  • Yeah, true.

  • woow veryy nice aquarium i have too some fische 5*

  • Thx =D

  • I love the Koln zoo. It's so big and beautiful! Thanks for the upload.

  • Thank you for your nice comment!

  • that is a massive tank!!! wat are the ones that look like ''sharks''

  • You mean the fish at 1:16 or 1:55 ? It took me some time to figure that out. They are Redeye labeo (Labeo cylindricus). There is another funny video of them on youtube called: "Hippo Spa" of NationalGeographic.
